I'm gonna get Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead.

For you though: Fallout 3. Then Mirror's Edge or Dead Space.

don't know why Left 4 Dead isn't on the list though...

While I do predict Left 4 dead will be quite awesome, it's not out on shelfs or on his list.

For your moneys worth:

-Fallout will give you upwards of 100 hours of play if you let it, but if you are not a fan of action/RPG style games, then you may not enjoy it as much.

-I have only played gears for a few minutes but I can say that if you liked the first you will love the sequel, it's better in so many ways.

-Dead space is the third choice, not because it's bad, but because the campaign only took me 11hrs to beat, and in a week I had gotten all of the achievements, so unless you stumble upon 60 more dollars I would go with the first 2.

Now Im off to go do something productive

To be honest I didn't know left 4 dead was out in the UK this side of Christmas, does look pretty good though. Is it online only or is there a single player mode?

Why no Fable 2? Great game...

Fallout 3 is really good, and could take up a lot of time if you don't just blast through the main story.

Mirrors Edge seems cool. Try the demo.

IDK though, its your money and your decision... why are you asking us again?

Doesn't hurt to ask does it?

I just thought I'd ask the Escapist community because most people on here have already played those games, and so they can say if its good, bad or any other reactions they had to one of the games I'm interested in. Also if some games in my list might be better than others, so I'd save myself £40 if I bought the better one in the first place.

It is designed to be multiplayer co-op but the other players can be AI controlled bots. I suppose if online play is an issue then you might want to go for something else but I'm really excited about it. And Valve are arguably the best games company around at the moment. Who can fault the creators of Half-Life and Portal?

I would get GeOW 2 and Mirror's Edge personally. If you're an Oblivion fan replace either of those with Fallout 3. If you're like me and didn't particularly enjoy Oblivion then give Fallout 3 a rental. That's what I did.

Fallout 3 - GOTY material
Far Cry 2 - The FPS of the year
Resistance 2 begs to differ. Oh fuck off with your Mars bars lines, I'm correcting him, not advertising.
Not that I want to start anything here, but shouldn't you wait for the game to actually come out before making that claim? I'm sure it looks great, but so did Mercenaries 2, and that turned out to be a steaming pile of shit.

I'd say you should get Fallout 3 and either Farcry 2 or Call of duty.
Mostly because all the other good games there happen to be published by EA. And I myself refuse to buy any more games from them until they sort their shit out.

I will be buying Mirror's Edge as soon as I can, which will probably be late next week. If you haven't tried the demo yet, do so. Its shaping up to be a great game. I am really looking forward to it. Haven't played any of the others, and am not really interested to, except maybe fallout 3.

None. Go play some old cheap games. I got Prey for $5 and Condemned 1 and 2 for 15 a piece. Bioshock, Call of Duty 4 and Mass Effect should be around $30 now
