The constant sequels of games (Even if they are good ones) are becoming tedious beyond belief.

So fellow escapees, which games do you think should stop already?

I personally think the halo series, I mean ODST was just Awful and Reach was ok I guess, and now they are developing Halo 4! when will it end?!

Couple things I disagree with.

While ODST was the weakest in the FPS Halo series, I'd say it was far from awful. I still really enjoyed it. And Reach I felt was the best Halo in the series since Halo 2, which is still my favorite.

Personally, I feel Final Fantasy has reached its limits. I've never been a fan of them, but a few of my friends have, and even they are tired of them.

Be prepared for a shit ton of CoD and Madden comments.

The Total War franchise. Now what's left is to tweak the games and make updated sequels of the same eras... Bleh. Do something new.

This is the one that comes off the top of my head. I mean come on right? The motto for Halo 3 was "Finish the fight." It was supposed to be done. Over. They won't stop until they milk this franchise for every single penny they can. x3

Final fantasy i know people literally slaver over the thought of ff but come on sometimes enough is enough 14 games is pushing it even for something that popular.

Halo is on the top of my list.
releasing another game can be called Necrofillia (digging up an old finished game to release your loneliness on).
Final Fantasy.
Isn't really dead but is on the intensive care now in a coma and is kept alive by machines that runs on a lot of money.
most of nintendo's games (Zelda, Metroid, etc)
And of course Star Wars.

Surely it goes without saying that Sonic, Mario and Halo have all gone on far too seriously long enough

though fair enough i DID still say it

Final Fantasy.

I'd say Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Sonic...except those games are still good. Well, Sonic took a while, but Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was fun, Generations looks to be good, and Colors was great, from what I hear.

Zelda? Twilight Princess was great, in my opinion.

Mario? Galaxy and NSMB Wii were great.

Metroid? The only real stumbles the series has had are Other M and Hunters. Why does it need to be killed off? Because of 2 arguably mediocre games?

Other than the obvious "Call of Duty" franchise?
Final Fantasy.
Also, I have to disagree with those saying Halo has gone on long enough, unlike CoD , the Halo universe is one of amazing depth and quality.

Said everything I was going to say.

I enjoy Halo games. I just wish they would give them a bit of a break. 5-10 years, then make new ones.

I am done with Final Fantasy. 13 games and countless spinoffs and they all suck.

Call of... no no no, too obvious.

So, how about Resident Evil? They've passed number five, plus assorted spin-offs, and the series really isn't going anywhere.

I don't think any game needs to stop as long as they make them better and add more features like in reach when they added the awesome forge mode. Thats why I bought it. black ops didn't impress me it seemed like a map pack not a game. series's don't need to stop crap games do.

You know, Bungie aren't even working on Halo anymore. They've handed the reins to Micro... err, 343 Industries. Bungie DID "Finish the Fight". And now they've moved on to pastures new.

In my opinion, I share it with others. Halo /has/ gone on for a while. But so has Call of Duty, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Zelda, etcetera. I agree with all these.
Other than these, I can't really think of any game series that annoys me when I hear new games are coming out. Well apart from the Guitar Hero-type games. But thank the Maker most of those are dead already...
