Madden and all those other sports games need to end. Or at least just offer roster updates as a patch/dlc instead of coming out with a "new" full price game every year. CoD doesn't need to end, just needs to do something interesting. CoD4 was great because it shook up the series pretty well. They should do something like that again. Halo, actually looks like it might be interesting, now that there's a new developer involved. They could take it in an interesting direction, but probably not. Fingers crossed though. As for series that should just straight up end, Sonic needs to be taken behind the shed and put out of its misery.

Where should we start? Star Wars. Also, if you know me in person, you know that I'm a huge Halo fanboy, but I shook my head at Halo 4's announcement. Give it a 3-4 year rest before releasing the next one.

Final Fantasy could use a break as well or they should at least listen to the community once in a while. They did hear about the battle system in FFXIII being boring as hell right? Right?

What the fuck is wrong with this community...
Oh I love you so.
I was going to just leave you a nice little heart, but that would be low content.

So I'll just also leave a message explaining said heart and why it couldn't be just said heart.

And then the heart.

Silent Hill

This series hasn't been good since it left the original development team, someone needs to burn it and smoke the ashes in a fine pipe.
Dammit.... ninja'd by several hours.

Most games I either like or don't like but I really cared for the Silent Hill series and enjoyed how the first four flowed.

I do not appreciate them basically whoring out the name to every developer that wants to take a stab at it. That is just not cool.

Personally, I think that the question of a sequel is a tricky one. Do you create something that is new and good (such as Metroid: Other M) and hope it works? Or do you call it Metroid and tie the story in and hope the name sells the game?

Either way, a company has a lot more difficulty in many respects than people give them credit for. Other M (I just use this as a current example) is an excellent game. It would have been good even without the Metroid universe pasted on it. The question is, would they have been able to sell the game as a new IP as successfully as they did using the Metroid name?

First off, I'd like to say that your point stands tall and true. "Can an excellent game sell better as a part of a franchise or as a new IP?" That, of course, depends on many things.

... But for the record, most people disagree with you on Other M being good, me included. My instant reaction when I picked the game up was "if they come out with another Metroid game like this, I will swear off new Metroids". Which will be a damn shame, 'cause I fucking love Metroid.

Zelda in its current format and style.

I had the feeling of Deja Vu from Twilight Princess, hell at least Wind Waker disguised the similarities with Ocarina with a fresh coat of amazing art design and unique graphics. But when I saw all the stuff for Skyward Sword I had no interest in playing it. Now all I get from Zelda is "I've played this before" in some shape or form.

The problem is, a lot of people think that means that I something entirely different or something that's "mature" and "edgy" and how much of a bad idea that would be (it would be- thats how Darksiders happened). But I'm not asking for much. Some semblance of a different story, different characters, different equipment, something! So that I dont know 80% of what will happen and what to expect, waiting for the game to fill in the little nouns in the plot or puzzle that are left blank.

Hell, as much as Metroid: Other M was a massive disappointment, at least it was some flirtation with trying something different. Metroid Prime did the same thing, reinventing and keeping things fresh but hardly too unorthodox.

Fighting games. Seriously, Let's get Capcom, Marvel, Dc, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Soul Calibur, (Plus the busty ones from DOA) put them all in one game and STOP FUCKING MAKING SEQUELS WITH A FEW NEW CHARCTERS!
Seriously, I hate seeing the exact same game sell shit-tons because Yoda makes an appearance. It's getting stupid. Graphics have peaked, controls are fluid, internet connections make getting stomped by someone who isn't even in the same country completely possible. Just put all characters together and put out an update or two when the fanboys gripe about someone being op. Let's just release Fighting game. Micro-transactions to add hats or Batman or something and the game can sell forever!
What are you doing reading this? Get to it!

Holy Christ, Halo needs to end. They are just making them for the fan boys now. After halo 2 they should have cut it, MAYBE halo 3 i would have let them get away with. After those two or three, stop. By the time i die there would have been 2,000,000 halo sequels released lol

None.

No games have gone on long enough. If the players want a title continued, they're going to get it especially if there's money to be made. Video game companies like every other company on this green earth, are in business to make money.

If there's one person out there to enjoy it, why do you feel the need to anti-fanboy (just as annoying as regular fanboy) all over it was self-righteous rage?

I'm glad to see the success of veterans like Samus, Link and Mario especially. They might not be the same games now they use to be, but damnit they're still here and strong. Everything is going to change with the times and adapt to a wider audience while appealing to a newer audience.

They're in the business to make money, and the fans are there to play the games. Why do you want to take that away from someone? Just because you don't like it anymore doesn't mean everyone else out there agrees with you.

well only game that comes into my mind is the Call of Duty, from what i've seen the single player campaings are very short and the multiplayer hasnt much changed from MW1, I dont hate the game series but maybe they could get out better CoD games if they didnt release one every year and spend some time & effort on making the next game

I thought that people were split on the battle system. I liked it. I know critics loved it.

I don't mind a huge Roman number after the Final Fantasy-moniker. They're always different stories, so it's not the concept that gets stale. I like FF-type games, so why would I want to keep playing them, yet expect that they only change the name?

But the games have been shit for nigh on a decade now, and that bothers me. They shouldn't kill off the franchise, but they should fire their current team. Take a look at Mistwalker (former FF-guys), play Lost Odyssey. It's still possible to make a fantastic FF-type game.

I personally think the halo series, I mean ODST was just Awful and Reach was ok I guess, and now they are developing Halo 4! when will it end?!
This is the one that comes off the top of my head. I mean come on right? The motto for Halo 3 was "Finish the fight." It was supposed to be done.
Exactly what I thought. ODST is a fair edition, as it was an expansion (though outrageous to still pay $80 for it), but sequels?

In all seriousness, I believe Call of Duty should end. At least for a time. I enjoy a game or two of CoD multiplayer, but there's not much they can do, except story and engine changes, that they can't do with DLC.
The Modern Warfare series is fair enough though. That's a series within a series.
