Basically the popular games now with 10 year olds will be seen as great games when they are in their 20's and looking their their nostalgia goggles.

What, I really do not get that. Probably cos i've never played mass effect?

Well, imso its one of the best RPG games ever made (Or lately rather), with really interesting story, loveable characters and chest pounding action. Its like Star Trek and Star Wars put together into a big ball of awesome.

Really mass effect? Mass effect? Maybe 1, i wouldnt say 2, 2 had a horrible!!!!! storyline in my opinion. Just awful.

OP: Ummm its so hard. Disgaea Hour of darkness. The game is a legend and dosent get nearly as much props. LIke it gets no props blegh. Second is worms, such an old game but still nostalgic and still will be. Just uhg i guess my post as turned into a mass effect hate post, just a game average like mass effect is seen as king and all these other true gaming legends get nothing. Sad really.

Fallout 3
Mass Effect 1-3(I'm including 3 because hey, it's a decade from now)
Dragon Age Origins
God of War series
Metroid Prime series

Games that already hit that landmark for me because if I wanted that nostalgic feel again, I just play the latest title:
Any Zelda after OoT
Guitar Hero/Rock Band
Any Pokemon game
Halo series
Madden or NHL

Lets face it, the games we find nostalgic will not be remembered much in ten years. Games like Cod, Assassins Creed, and Rockstar games will probably be remembered with nostalgia goggles on.

So, my question to you escapist. Is which games do you think will be remembered most in ten years?

I'm unsure what this is supposed to mean.

First of all, can we abolish the use of the term "nostalgia goggles" since it's used exclusively as an insult or an oversimplifying of something we don't understand?

Second, law of identity. I'm sure you remember the first Zelda/Ratchet and Clank/Uncharted/Metal Gear Solid game that you played. So does everyone else, and so WILL everyone else. There's no reason to suspect otherwise. The PSP Metal Gear game hasn't exactly been glorified, and MGS2 is notorious for being disappointing. And yet the upcoming Metal Gear Solid compilation will sell like crazy. Because people remember Metal Gear.
