Gran Turismo (buy a car, race it, buy a better car race it, parts going to shit? repair, race, buy a car ....)

Final fight or any of those 2d side scrolling fighting games where the most minute movement up or down can mean certain death or successful hit. The Scott Pilgrim game had to stick to that genre and sucks because of it.

Act Raiser ... fuck that game ... no explanation needed.

Contra and Mega man are pretty much the same thing so I'm going with those, too. I can't be arsed to shoot-dodge my way through a poorly rendered 2d world if I already know what is going to happen.

If it counts as a classic, I hate Ninja Gaiden one to three; such a needless extreme difficulty...

Zelda and Final Fantasy take the cake. I never got those games, despite repeated attempts.

Just... no.

The first Metroid was just awful. There is no story whatsoever (or clear objective for that matter), the tunnels are endless and repetative, the controls are terrible and prevent you from being able to hit anything below chest level, and that last part would be ok if enemies wheren't fricking everywhere!

Well, I don't really 'loathe' any game(Nothing old, at least), at most there are some classic games that I just can't get into. Mega Man 1, for example. Is there some other game I should try that might get me into the series? Because that thing is just a frustrating mess of controller slamming.

Ecco the Dolphin's another one. I remember being impressed with it as a kid, but my nostalgia glasses completely broke when I bought it off Virtual Console. It's just so boooooring.

Heck, now that I think about it, very few games from before the 16-bit era have held up very well for me. Most of them are either too hard or too confusing by today's standards.
