So i'm between 2 cheap laptops. 1st one is a Hp pavilion g6 with AMD A4-3300M processor (dual core 1.9ghz -2.5ghz at turbo core) and video card. Second one is a Acer Aspire 5560g with a quad core 1.4ghz and a Radeon HD 6720G2 video card (1024 MB). Both have 6 gb of ram, 640gb hdd and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Which one is better for gaming?

Do you have any more details on the Acer Aspire 5560g? From what I was able to google, it has the A4-3300M processor as well, which is obviously incorrect since you're calling it a quad-core.

Well the one i'm looking at has A6 3400m, which is a 1.4ghz-2.3ghz quad core.

Yeah, the Acer has a much more robust GPU, as the Radeon HD 6720G2 is a combination of the onboard fusion 'gpu' and a dedicated gpu. You can actually look at a few benchmarks here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6720G2.57274.0.html

So it really comes down to what the 'video card' you mention the HP one has. I actually went to the hp website to see what it might be and they didn't call it anything other than 'AMD Radeon(TM) Discrete-Class Graphics [HDMI, VGA]', which no name.

I would bet the Acer laptop would be better in terms of gaming (aka, more fps). I can't say a thing about tech support/build quality, but in terms of hearsay, hp > acer. So the decision is up to you.

Personally, they're both terrible brands.

Out of the two, I'd say ACER, simply because I know that HP Pavilion 6 Series have Motherboard problems.

Don't buy the HP Pavilion.

One of my friends did and the motherboard started to overheat and melt both itself and the case.
