Which is the worst fanboy war?

I have gone through the exact same thing, they just cannot listen to reason those MC fanboys. I believe I have posted this somewhere already.

But I believe that the KZ2 fanboys have reached new heights in fanboy-ism. I know I talk about Gametrailers a lot but, because there were so many 'omg KZ2 is the height of gaming' or 'KZ2 vs' threads they have/had placed a new rule on Gametrailers, stating if anyone creates a Killzone 2 related thread they will be banned for two weeks.

I just couldn't stop laughing at the fact that it had gotten to that point.

OK, going through scenarios one by one:

Master Chief w/ rocket launcher vs Samus w/ missiles: Master Chief fires rocket, takes off some of Samus's health (judging by damage done by missiles to her in the Metroid universe). Samus fires missile, instantly kills Chief (again, judging by damage done from rockets in game)

At a distance: Samus screw attacks to close the gap between her and Master Chief, then shoots at him when she is close enough, making a small target to hit with a sniper rifle.

With vehicles: Samus morph balls, goes underneath whatever Master Chief is driving, then bombs him.

Close range: Samus either uses her magnetic grapple to throw him off balance and blasts him with her arm cannon, or she loses the armor and lashes at him with her whip, moving quickly to avoid being targeted.

Anything I missed?

Yeah, the total of 27 different beam cannons she is equipped with, along with the phazon and other suits at her disposal.

But I guess you didn't have to note them ;¬D

I've been doing some forum stalking and I've noticed how somethings can lead into quote wars, and fanboy patriotism.

I'll be the first to say that if I see someone saying something I disagree with about a game in a "It's shit because I say so" manner then I'll put on my cat ears and T-shirt and give it to them.

But among all of these "wars" which do you think ranks the highest? are ther any you participate in?

(Sorry I couldn't add a poll because there's too many options. Also please try not to start something in here...it might turn ugly.)

Anyhow my 2 cents:
Halo fans vs more complex shooter fans.

The ones I participate in: WoW vs anything (although if you've seen any of my posts you would known that already)

As far as I can tell every single thread on the escapist is a fanboy thread.

Even the ones about abortion, womens rights, or war.

You have one group EXTREMELY against and one EXTREMELY for whatever it is.

You could have a debate on these forums about "Punching babies and knifing women" and I'm sure you'd STILL get a group of people strongly supporting it.

I think that's why I like being here. It's like someone laid out jello with rat poison in it and everyone took just enough to go half retarded before they started posting. At times myself not excluded from that generalization (It's hard to not get caught up in it sometimes).

Wii vs Gamecube - I'm serious, this is a war between some of the nerds at my school.

Wierd thing is that inside the Wii is a graphics chip thing with the same label on it as the chip inside a gamecube.

I don't remember what its called but if you open both you'll find the same chip (V and all).

The only reason I clocked on this thread was to see if either
A: It turned into a fanboy war, or
B: It turned into a war about fanboy wars and which is worst.
I am delightfully surprised to see that not a WHOLE lot of either has happened, and my faith in humanity has been restored a bit.

I think FFVII vs. any other FF. I don't understand why people can't get it through their heads that they retain the same franchise name and themes in honor of the first one, which single-handedly kept Square from capsizing.

I have to agree with both sides somewhat...yes, FFVII was an awesome game, despite its flaws, and yes, Square is beating a dead-horse.

But whenever someone says that the game is perfect, or on the other side, without any merit at all, I get frustrated.

It's one of the reasons I've tried to distance myself from the rest of my fellow FF fans...it's just that bad.

EDIT: And I'd like the above posters to know it makes me very uncomfortable when people start comparing religions so haphazardly. Are you TRYING to alienate people?

My brother used to work at a Lowes' Cineplex ("AMC Theatres" now, but it was a huge movie theater in a local mall)...

And on the day that Star Wars Episode III came out, he was doing security duty there...And a Startrek fan showed up in Captain Kirk's outfit, and this guy wase were picking a fight with him...This Starwars fan had a plastic lightsaber...

And this guy said, and I quote, "Star Trek is vastly superior to Starwars!" (Not better, but vastly superior.) Which happened to start the epic struggle:

Apparently it went on for about a minute or so. I guess he was having a good time, because my brother didn't bother attempting to break up until Kirk disarmed the guy with the lightsaber and was beating him over the head with it.

It does get nasty. Really nasty indeed.
