Ok this thread was inspired by the recent Beverly Hill Cop and Mrs Doubtfire news. As we all know Hollywood are lazy and too afraid to take risk on making new material and focus on exiting media thus the remake and rebook films we been getting.

I guess this thread is somewhat a future prediction thread on taking at guessing which film/ series they are going to reboot next from the old film and series.

I mean this is what we gotten so far-
A-Team
Miami Vice
Karate Kid
Speed Racer
Starsky & Hutch
The Dukes of Hazzard
The Prisoner
Star Trek
Robocop
Battlestar Galactica
Nightmare from Elm Street
King Kong
War of the World
(I'm pretty sure I am missing out several more examples.)
Terminator, Mad Max, Beverly Hill Cop and Mrs Doubtfire are coming soon.
(I guess animated reboot like ThunderCats and He-Man count too)

I gonna played devil advocate by naiming these film and tv series that Hollywood will takle at some point in the future for a remake/ reboot-
Back to the Future (as much as I adore that film, the film is begging for a remake and I getting a feeling it won't be a good remake).

Quantum leap (again another oldie I liked but I can somewhat see this worked well it got to have high production for it to work and it could be somewhat controversial if they did an episode on 9/11).

PS-just to be clear, I am not talking about Hollywood making good remake/ reboot, It's what you thinkthey will remake/reboot next regardless on the quality of the film itself. Well ok a few are good but still.

They're not really remaking or rebooting Mrs. Doubtfire; they're just making a sequel.

But to answer your question, I'd guess the Beverly Hillbillies. Why? 'Cause why not?

Considering how Tv loves detective stories I was thinking Columbo. I don't know if I want that but it's strange that they speak of a Murder She Wrote remake but not a Columbo remake.

I am surprised that they have not announced a new live action Power Rangers movie. I know it is currently still a popular Disney television show and the last two movies were terrible but we are getting a TMNT movie while the last live action movies were nothing amazing ( I liked the CGI one actually) and it also has a tv show at the moment.

I would think it would be perfect for someone like Michale Bay and Disney or Paramount or whatever. Get a bunch of young semi popular American actors (Megan Fox will no doubt be the pink ranger for some reason), give them knock off Iron Man suits since they can't ditch the colours (since it is like half the point of the characters) but they can ditch the dorky spandex for metal robot suits and have big over the top explosive fights. I am just really surprised this is not a thing being made.

p.s. the Ironman suits were maybe a bit too much but I don't think it would be terrible, just slim agile versions.

I don't really want to see Hollywood make it, but I would love to see a continuation of Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron.

And while I'm dreaming, I'd actually be happy to see something like a Power Rangers movie with a budget. BUT:

No grimdark, no making it for adults, none of that. Make it like the first movie, but with some better writing and CGI for the zords. Hell, make it like the end to Power Rangers in Space with the full on invasion of earth.

After the success of the Battlestar Galactica reboot I am surprised that no one has tried to reboot Babylon 5 yet. Considering how popular gritty sci-fi has become in the last decade I would think it would be perfect. It is already pretty damn dark as it is, change some of the alien designs to make them a little less camp and your done.

No ones mentioned Ghostbusters yet?
I am disappointed.
It has all the makings for a modern holly wood remake.

Pokémon.
Hollywood will make a gritty, CGI filled, real actors as trainers remake.
No idea who should be who or who to direct :/

I was just thinking this, I would be ok with a Babylon 5 reboot with flashy modern day special effects and making a point of finishing off plots such as the Garibaldi/Bester one where it is just implied that Bester got what was coming to him. I don't know if they were thinking of finishing that plot off in an episode of Crusade or a stand alone movie, but I found it frustrating that that plot never got resolved. Also I agree with making some of the alien designs less camp, but they really should keep the ridiculous looking reverse quiffs that the Centari had in the show.

If anything for me the Centari were the worst offenders and the first thing I would change in a reboot. They were antagonists for such a large part of the show but, with the exception of Londo, every time I saw the hair and the outfits I just could not take them even a little bit seriously.

Which would be worse; a remake of Citizen Kane directed by Michael Bay, or a remake of 2001 by Michael Bay?

MICHAEL BAY HAS SHOWN INTEREST IN RE-ADAPTING FULL METAL JACKET! MICHAEL BAY CLAIMS SPIELBERG DID A 'LOUSY' JOB WITH A.I., SETS OUT TO DO BETTER JOB! MICHAEL BAY SLATED TO PRODUCE AND DIRECT A PG-13 REBOOT OF A CLOCKWORK ORANGE!

Your move.

...no, PG-13 Clockwork is still worse. But I'll entertain you.

A reboot of I Love Lucy directed by Snoop Dogg Lion, staring Sofia Vergara as Lucy and Skrillex as Ricky Ricardo.

Soundtrack by Skrillex.

EDIT: Not only do I think "Michael Bay slated to produce and direct a PG-13 Reboot of A Clockwork Orange" is worse than The Shining 2 by Skrillex, but I think it may be the worst sentence ever spoken in the English language. And I didn't even really like Clockwork.

"Uwe Boll to direct A Clockwork Orange movie, based on a videogame adaptation of the original"?

No. That is not even a sentence. That is gibberish. I'm not even sure those are actual letters you're using. How do you do that?
