Which personification of death would you want?

Thanatos is the Greek god of Death, and his brother is Morpheus the god of dreams.

That is right those daemons. I forgot all about those two guys. Can't say he is a very intimidating personification of death though.

I've yet to see this interpretation of death, but personally, I've always liked the idea of a man with an affable face, a nice, respectable suit, and an overall amiable personality coming to greet you and send you to your eternal rest.
That's just always been an appealing interpretation to me, you know? It's calming and nice to know that Death has learned to accept its niche, and comes without judgement.

Hum. Funny, that just made me remember one of my story(ish) ideas. A man can see death himself, who's basically just a nice businessman with a kindly face who gently takes people by the arm and leads them to their deaths. He learned this by watching him take a woman by the arm and lead her out onto the street, where she got run over by a bus. The man himself was unharmed and kept walking with a faint outline of the woman.

Curious how I remember that. It was just passing idea at the time. Thanks for helping me remember!

Did somebody play Valkyrie Profile, or do you just know mythology that well?

OT: I'd stick with the grim reaper, with no voice. Spoken word would make it seem human, and I'm not sure a voice exists that could do Death justice.

I couldn't agree more. I would say that you ninja'd me, but I did not have that picture and the impression of sheer, epic, desire for a death on the battlefield it imposes. That image is getting saved.
