Which platform?

I just purchased a PS3, and have owned a XBox 360 for a couple years now.

Going forward, for games which are released on both platforms, how do I decide which version of the game to buy?

From what little I've gathered its mostly a game by game question with your preference in controller being the deciding factor otherwise. Is it this simple?

Are there resources online which do side by side comparisons?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure some games look nicer on the ps3 than they do on the 360, and vice versa, as is the case with Red Dead Redemption. I would probably just recommend going for whichever controller you like more. Or, if you want to play online, maybe get it for ps3, because online is free.

Look to the reviews for that, though most games run slightly better on the Xbox.
It's true. I have both consoles and love them both equally but moe often than not the 360 runs games better. The PS3 version of Bayonetta, for example, is renowned for being laggy, having a poor framerate and screen tearing, whereas the 360 version has little to none of this
It does confuse me but it usually leads me to getting multi-platform titles on my 360
However, I find the online community of the PSN more tolerable than the kids of Live, so I bought both MW games for PS3 for a more enjoyable online experience

At the end of the day it's really up to you, use your judgements and take into account the opinions of decent critics
