Zigzagoon is a pretty good one. Easy to say and the name is easy to remember. A raccoon with Zigzag patterns is always awesome.

Galvantula is smart name, mainly because I had to look up what galvanism is and holy shit was that cool of them to do.

Golurk is a pretty terrific name for a cool looking pokemon. A golem and lurk(referencing the fact that he is a ghost type).

I like Heracross...
Also, Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan (and I guess Hitmontop). It's a mon(ster). It hits things. It's Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan. It's a hit-mon-Lee/Chan. (Or... it looks like a spinning top. Yeah, I prefer the original two.)

Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, just because they are references.
Exactly this! The Pokemon versions of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee are just epic names!

Also I like Raticate (Eradicate), Eggecute and eggectutor (Execute/executor) and Kangaskhan (Genghis Khan)!

Lanturn, because it is impossible for there to be anything wrong with Lanturn. The name is cute, easy and cool, just like the pokemon.

I mean, come on.
Otherwise, farfetch'd. What a cool name! Occasionally we do duels where we each send out a farfetch'd, swords dance 3 times and then false swipe continuously. For honor!

And blast it, everything still looks like Justin Beiber. Why did I press that stupid button.
Try pressing it again, if you're still Biebered it should set it back.[/quote]

Probably won't work. I got a message saying that it'll wear off after 24 hours since clicking the button...so that means Beiber's face is here to stay until 1:00 p.m.

Back on topic, Haxorus has a nice cut feeling as well. Of course, that there could be a little bias on my part. Seeing as how I like it's design.

Mewtwo has alway stuck to me. It's got the double meaning (Mew 2). It sounds similar to mu which would apply to the Korean/Japanese character for "without", the English word moot (irrelevant), the Greek numeric expression, or the Moebius Function.

Then there's Rotom, which is just motor backwards but also gives mind words like rotate, electrum, electron, auto, atom.

My favourite pokemon name is, and will likely always be, Octillery.

Octillery. Octopus Artillery.

How could it possibly get better than that?

On a related note, ever since I started watching Game Grumps, I hear JonTron in my head screaming out certain pokemon names when I read them.

"OH IT'S A KLINKLANG! OH IT'S A ZANGOOSE!!!"

Just seems like something he'd come up with.

Edit: On a related related note, what's up with Seal and Dewgong? I mean, come on, really? And that's not even getting into the horror that is Mister Mime...

Seel, because it's a seal.
And Dewgong, because it's a... seal. :|
Well Dewgong is actually a Dugong so it works out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dugong

My vote goes to Typhlosion, love it.
I know what a dugong is, but Dewgong looks more like a seal than a dugong. Completely different face.

I second Serperior, it's probably the most fitting name in Pokemon history.

And what other Pokemon looks this good in a top hat?

I like Escavalier, really rolls off the tongue. Escargo + Chevalier. French.

Paras!

When I first saw it, I thought it's name was Papas, which is Spanish for Potatoes. So I renamed it Potatoes.
I also wrote a cover of the Coldplay song "Paradise" (or at least some of it) to be about this awesome crustacean.

Paras, Paras Parasect.
Sing, Paras, Paras Parasect
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oooh
Once you we're a cra-a-ab with mushrooms on your back.
...And that's as far as I've gotten.
Ah, Paras, the most messed up of all Pokemon. Did you know that it's actually based on the cordyceps fungus (or something similar at least) and when it evolves, it shows that the mushroom has completely taken over? That's why the eyes lose their pupils.

Ah Pokemon, doing cordyceps zombies BEFORE it was cool. (God damn it, I should used that for the interesting fact thread).

How has no-one uttered the best name yet? Porygon.

Bonus points for a seemingly self-referencing accent joke with L's sounding like R's.

Say polygon in a bad stereotypical asian accent, go on i dare ya.

I like Blastoise and Aerodactyl a lot.

Blastoise - Blast (Hydro Pump, anyone?) and Tortoise! It makes one of the cuter and slower members of the animal kingdom badass! Also, Blastoise being a BAMF in general helps.

Aerodactyl - It sounds kinda like a dinosaur that could be discovered. And it suits how you get it in the games rather well: you bring it back to life from fossilized amber!

I think Braviary is clever and one of the best.

And on the other end of the spectrum, we have Whimsicott...

I'm gonna say Porygon.

Because he's literally made of polygons.
I'm gonna be slightly disappointed if he doesn't appear in X and Y.

Scizor, it looks how it's name sounds. Even without knowing what it looks like the word sounds sharp in itself.
