[HEADING=2]Which Pokemon would you most like to eat?[/HEADING]

So long story short, today I've been breeding Beldums to create my perfect future Metagross and whilst I was doing so, my thoughts inevitably came to which Pokemon would taste the best between two slices of bread. After-all, there seems to be a distinct lack of real life animals for the most part in the Pokemon world and so any meat has to come from somewhere. Would you nibble a Noibat or snack on a Snorlax? Here are my top three choices:

[li]Chicken legs are always delicous and with the amount of kicking that Combusken gets up to, they're sure to have a good amount of meat on them. Maybe they'd already come pre-cooked too? [/li]

[li]Red meats are among my favourite foods and so high on my list would be a delicous Tauros steak. Preferably with fries too, if possible (any potato Pokemon out there?)[/li]

[li]The alleged ancestor of all Pokemon and cute as anything, Mew also looks very tender and delicious. I imagine it tastes a bit like veal, minus the inhumane upbringing. Unfortunately given it's rarity, it probably would come with a high price tag too. [/li]

So Escapists, which Pokemon do YOU think would be the tastiest?

I'm thinking Oddish would make a great salad.
Miltank, Tauros and the Tepig family for red meat.
Magicarp or Goldeen might cook nicely as white meat.

Now for the most in-universe logical explanation it would be Farfetch'd, which apparently was hunted to near extinction for his meat. It also begs the question what the fuck do people eat instead. Or is it just veggies and noodles for Ash & co.? Cause we never see regular "animals" in the same world as Pokemon.

Come on, it's practically begging to be eaten since it carries a side dish with it. I imagine it tastes a little like duck (yum)

I imagine this would be quite the rare delicacy. Milotics are practically perfect in every way, I'm sure they taste amazing too.

EDIT: Ninja'd on the second reply, what are the odds.

Pikachu. Not because it's tasty, because fuck that little bastard. Maybe Xerneas though, I imagine it would taste like venison and magic.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some fish and insects in the anime, but then the anime is probably worth ignoring (and I must have been about five or six at the time).

I remember in one of the movies there were hot dogs and cheeseburgers being eaten. Not sure what they were made of, maybe I wouldn't want to know. >.>

Ot: Going with some safe choices: Miltank, Tauros, Combusken, Tepig, Basculin,(which a Pokdex entry states that they are tasty) Vanilite, Cherubi. Those are some of the believably edible Pokemon.

Weirder choices: Dragonite/Salamence/Haxorus, I would like to know what a dragon tastes like.

Maybe Mudkip, which according to popular consensus, is very likeable so I assume that goes for taste too.

Maybe one of the humanoid Pokemon, have the closest experience of cannibalism without eating a human.

Apparently Magicarp makes a decent meal. Even better, it's the Pokemon with the least personality, so no qualms about eating it.

I don't get the people who say the anime should be disregarded. Yeah I know it sucks but it's still canon, that's what the games are based on, let's all collectively deal with it.

My first choice would probably be Goldeen. My second choice would have to be Arceus. Why Arceus? Because then I could become God!

EDIT: I would also have to imagine that most of the pig Pokemon would make great hotdogs.

You know what?

[HEADING=2]DIGLEEEEEEEETT![/HEADING]

Why, you ask? Because he looks like a discarded choc-ice and probably tastes like fudge.

For those of you about to ask, "Would you really pick up a discarded choc-ice...and put it in a sandwich?", I say yes, absolutely and my stomach should be thankful that I'm not feeding it something even worse.

Pretty much Farfetch'd given its Pokedex info say that it's quite tasty.

I dunno, I can think of Pokemon I wouldn't eat though:

Psyduck - Definitely avoid at all costs. Talk about an instant migraine inducing meat.

Koffing/Wheezing - Probably better used as a tool in a smokehouse rather than food.

Any Pokemon that can learn/use Dream Eater - Aside from the obvious Ghost types that wouldn't be edible, the side effects from eating could possibly drive you mad.

Snorlax - Beating out turkey in sleep inducing, this Pokemon meat will put your ass in a coma.

Onix/Steeelix - Unless you eat rocks or steel in which case you are a badass and probably rule the world with an iron fist.
On that note any other Rock type might be bad news for your digestive tract.

Electric types including Pikachu/Raichu - As much as most of us are sick of hearing that "Pika, Pika" crap it might not be healthy to eat a Pokemon with electricity running through it. Especially if you're going to boil or poach it.

Other than that also avoid anyone who offers you Jigglypuff or other charm-using Pokemon. Its the meat version of roofies.

I'd like to have a bite of Chansey, they look all squishy, like they might be made of marshmellow.

Other way around, games came out a good year before the anime. But funnily enough, wasn't Magikarp too tough to eat in the very same episode? I remember it breaking Meowth's teeth.

Actually, the anime makes a point of saying that Magikarp are actually HORRIBLE for eating. They're all scale and bones, almost no meat on them. This point is made clear when Meowth bites one and actually breaks his teeth on it.

And as a response to your earlier question, I'm fairly certain that the games make it clear that people DO eat Pokemon on a regular basis. Generally supplemented with alot of in-game berries, but they're eaten none the less.

OT: I wouldn't mind nibbling on a Slowpoke tail, those are supposed to be tasty. Or maybe some Feraligatr jerky. Yummy. On the weirder end, I'd like to take a bite out of a Ditto. Consistency of pudding, but probably tastes like chicken. Or rather, it tastes like EVERYTHING.

EDIT: Damn, ninja'd on the "Magikarp are bad for eating" part.

Also maybe not between two slices of bread, but Vaniluxe would probably taste pretty darn good.

Or if you're counting calories, Vanillite

Actually, the anime is based on the games if I'm being pedantic, but I agree nonetheless.

OT: I feel the most sensible choice is the freakin' ice cream Pokemon, which going by their names (Vanil-) would basically be vanilla ice cream with a face.

As for which one I'd like to eat the most, it'd have to be Tauros or Miltank because beef.

But it's a solid chunk of ice... I don't think you'd wanna eat that.

But it looks like ice-cream :(

Alright then, I guess I'll go for Arceus. If I'm gonna eat a Pokemon, it may as well be a legend beyond legends :D

Well, I'd say slowpoke. Specifically the tail.
Why? Well, apparently it's good enough that It's huge on the Pokemon Black Market, selling for like, a million pokedollars apiece If I remember my gold/silver correctly. It's gotta be good if it's that expensive, right?

Runners up is the more obvious choice, Miltank, because Cow.

Although I do really want to know what an Electabuzz would taste like...

Wait...didn't they make it pretty clear back in the first or second season of the anime that Magikarp has little to no edible meat on its body? I recall Team Rocket trying to eat the one that James bought for a thousand Poke-Dollars, getting nowhere, kicking it and then getting their asses handed to them by the newly evolved Gyarados.

Anyway, food:

3: Togepi

Kind of a copout maybe but as ubiquitous as eggs are in the culinary world, you just KNOW you're going to be enjoying a Togepi at some point. So why not jump into the pool head-first and try something like Togepi-Tamago-sushi? Or a three-togepi omlette?

2: Clawitzer

It's a shrimp...with a huge fucking claw...my favorite part of crabs are the legs and claws...and shrimp are like crack to me. Give me a bucket of steamed, spiced shrimp and I'll return a clean bucket within minutes. Clawitzer seems to be the best of both worlds; shrimp AND crab-claw.

Honorable Mention (#4): Octillery

I'm a fan of octopus. I loves me some takoyaki and the various sushi/rolls that come with octopus. So it's only natural that I'd be curious to partake in some sweet, sweet Octillery.

1: Kingler

Kingler is an Alaskan Snow Crab...Just look at this shit:
