What about some cheesy late 50s music? Say... "Love Potion No.9" by the Clovers (or the Searchers, or any of the many good covers of the song).
Or Elvis. Dare I say Elvis? (hm...specifically, I'm thinking "Hound Dog")
Or maybe older Beatles stuff. Or "I've a Believer" by the Monkees (even if they're not a real band).
Basically, I want some more rock'n'roll in my Rockband/Guitar Hero.

Though I could also go for any of these:
"Lovefool" by The Cardigans
"Walk Like and Egyptian" by The Bangles
"Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode
"Robot Rock" or "Harder, Better, faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk (these might not be suited to the game mechanics)
"Shut Me Up" or well anything from MSI (too bad they'd have to be clean versions)
"Stinkfist" or "Schism" by Tool
...I could probably keep going.

Basically, cheesy music, but with what I at least perceive as distinct parts for each person to play. I have eclectic tastes. Also...I wish there were something underway to develop a synthesizer/keyboard type deal for these games, instead of having to have the guitar handle it or ignore it all together or whatever it is they do.

So I've heard. But a turntable is not like a keyboard/synth. Still, it shows that the idea of more types of instruments is being entertained.

Something from MC Chris, it would suck for all the instruments except vocals, but for vocals it would be complete and total awesome.

Zeppelin and Queen. Even the older Guitar Heros had Queen and it was great. ("She's a killer queen...")

Michael Jackson. Yeah, GH:WT has it, but I thought Rock Band was the better game. "Billie Jean" is a must, "Beat It" and "Thriller" would be great too. And yes, I can sing it.

Green Day, please! All the way from their old stuff ("When I Come Around" and "Longview" for sure) to their newest stuff ("American Idiot" and "When September Ends").

Incubus. Might as well just start with the whole Morning View album.

Almost anything by Linkin Park. More Offspring (Smash or even Americana). INXS would be great too (lots of hits to sing and not as high as a lot of other popular stuff). Matthew Good Band and Goo Goo Dolls are great, with lots of passionate vocals.

More Muse! "Hysteria" was a great start, but toss in "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Time is Running Out".

Our Lady Peace. Okay, maybe I'm the only one who still likes their music.

Some better Rage Against The Machine. I think "Bulls on Parade" is on GH3, but we can do better than that. "Wake Up", "Testify", "Guerilla Radio", and "How I Could Just Kill a Man" would be great to rock out to.

And where the hell is Silverchair? They were right in there with Smashing Pumpkins. I want to see some "Emotion Sickness" and "Ana's Song", though I'd suffice with "Anthem for the Year 2000".

Eagles? I think somebody had "Hotel California", and if so, kudos, but there's a lot more to go around. All the way from older classics like "Take It Easy" and "Take it to the Limit", to more recent hits like "One of These Nights" and "Get Over It". They have so many good songs that their greatest hits comes on 4 CDs!

And while you're looking at the Eagles, don't forget Trooper. "We're Here For a Good Time", "Boys in the Bright White Sports Car", "Raise a Little Hell". Hell, take the whole "Hot Shots" album.

The Tragically Hip. Show Canada some love! "Blow at High Dough", "New Orleans is Sinking", "Boots or Hearts", "Ahead by a Century" -- all great tunes for rocking out to!

I know these are more pop, but The Beatles, Genesis/Phil Collins, Sugar Ray, Coldplay -- lots of bands, new and old, influential or just popular, but all great to play and sing.

Some less known bands, but still just as hard rocking, are Staind, P.O.D., and Godsmack (got one of those, but there are lots of great ones still).

And don't forget the ladies! I can't believe I haven't seen any Evanescence, considering how big they were when Rock Band first came out. Amy Lee is easily one of today's most iconic female vocalists.

The truth is, three songs a week is barely enough to keep up with the Top 40 lists. I think companies like Harmonix and EA underestimate the market available to them. They could easily put out an album a day and people like me would buy them. You can only sing the same song so many times; keep the new stuff coming!

I would love to see Perfect Drug from NIN in rockband so that all those would-be drummers would flail wildly trying to match the song hehe.

Check out the DLC. And yes, you have to flail wildly. I've yet to attempt it on Expert.

Do Gorillaz even use guitars...or am I thinking of a different band?
I know they use bass and drums (Murdock and Russel)
I see.
Noodle is a little girl that was part of a Japanese super soldier project that arrived at the Gorillaz mansion in a crate on accident in a shipping mix-up, I believe it was. As soon as she left the crate, she proceeded to tear an amazing guitar line the hell up, and simply said 'noodle'. The Gorillaz crew took her on as a guitarist of course, calling her Noodle as that was her first English word spoken.

It'll never happen but it would be so fun on all instruments.

How could I forget! For the love of god, give us Audioslave. Anything except "Doesn't Remind Me of Anything" -- that's what happens when Chris Cornell falls off the wagon. Their entire self-titled album is gold. Out of Exile had several good tunes, like "Drown Me Slowly", "The Worm", "Man or Animal", though it also had a few duds like "Doesn't Remind Me of Anything" and "Dandelion". Revelations had lots of good stuff as well. Hell, I'd buy the whole catalog tomorrow if it came out on Rock Band.

I'd love some of their darker, epic stuff, like "Number 1 Zero", "Moth", "Shadow on the Sun", and "The Last Remaining Light". They may not be for everybody, but going gold on Moth would be a dream, and busting out at the end of Shadow of the Sun would be nearly orgasmic.

Oh yeah, and more Foo Fighters. The Colour and the Shape was a good start, but that was hardly their best work. They have way more of a showing than any other bands on the list, but compared to most other rock bands, they've been the most consistently outstanding recent band.

I'd like Crawling or One Step Closer from Linkin Park
Rock Band 2 for One Step Closer. Nothing else LP yet.

Hell, just about any SoaD would be nice.
Chop Suey on Rock Band 2, but that's it, far as I know.

Pretty sure Wake Up Dead is Rock Band DLC. As part of the whole album.

Guitar Hero Metallica has some Queen, at least Stone Cold Crazy, but I'm pretty sure there are more. There's 4 or 5 Offspring tunes between RB2 and it's DLC (Come Out and Play, Pretty Fly for a White guy, etc.). Rock Band 2 has Testify. More on all counts would be nice, though.

They need Green Day, Blind Guardian, and Nightwish. I would say some of the rock-ish Final Fantasy tunes, but the ones that have vocals would be too boring and too much trouble all at once...and I think they have no place in Rock Band. (As user-made Guitar Hero stuff, though...)

One of the entire Pink Floyd prog albums as one song. Maybe "Wish you were here" or "Dark side of the moon". "The Wall" would be cool too, though a bit dull to play.

The Four Horsemen by Metallica.

You figured it would have been in Guitar Hero Metallica, but noooooooooooo. They even included Hit the Lights in that game, and it was from the same album. I was, and I still am, very upset.
