Soul Calibur II for the GameCube is the best version of the game, because it has Link, and Link, being a guy with a sword and a shield, as well as an iconic Nintendo character is about the best GameCube exclusive possible for the game.
PS2 got Heihachi, which is stupid, because he doesn't even wield a sword, and Xbox got Spawn, well, he uses chains so at least it's a weapon, but still, it could have been better, since if they're going for comics they could have grabbed another sword wielding comic book character, or hell, even Drizzt.
So who would you have preferred to see in both the PS2 and Xbox versions of Soul Calibur II? My first thought was Ryu Hayabusa, but then I realised Ninja Gaiden came out after SC2. For PS2, Yoshimitsu would have been better than Heihachi, as at least he's got a sword. Dante would have kicked ass, and been quite suitable too. On Xbox, Deadpool wields swords, like actual swords, and Wolverine while fighting not much different from Heihachi likely at least has blades coming out of his fists.
Cerebus would have been supremely awesome, but unfortunately I don't think he would have appealed to the Xbox audience.
