You've all met those people. The people who you just wish wouldn't act the way they are portrayed in the media...yet they do, and you just die a little inside. So I'm asking the escapist community, which stereotype in people that you have seen annoys you the most and why?

For me, it's the emo/goth/scene community. Don't hate me here, but they just never stop complaining. They're always having issues with "love" and how their world is "crashing down" and stuff like that.
Keep in mind, this is from what I've seen, my community isn't known for many stereotypes.

BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU?

white people. They're always on about something......XD

Probably whichever one is the really arrogant one who always thinks his opinion is worth more than absolutely nothing.

Also the guy who wears plaid shirts and listens to music made by people with beards.

Asian drivers is really the only one I can think of, and that is only because our physical education teacher was an Asian Woman, and hit almost every curb whenever we would go off campus.

Jersey people... I think they have a show just for them I think. I have yet to run into someone I know is from NJ that doesn't have a serious attitude problem and an appearance obsession.

Asian drivers lol!
I'm asian myself, my dad explains that if i drove the way that i currently do (like a NORMAL person) in china or hongkong (where we came from) i would get nowhere :(
Still, doesn't hurt to be polite on the road! i always get a bit grr when people steal my parking spot even when i've indicated, makes me wonder how come people don't get keyed more often

Black people like fried chicken, kool-aid, and watermelon. Not a direct thing to black people, but everyone I know loves that stuff, and that's honestly the only one I can think of that seems to be true.

I drive a cab so i've seen way too often that anybody with a strong enough accent (in other words anybody originally from a country other than m'own) will guarantee that i could give them the equivelant of a road...um...."happy ending", and they still won't tip me one red cent...or at th'best, they'll give me th'next whole dollar if their tab ended in somethin' other than 00.....

I'm southamerican so I don't hear stereotypes about the irish, but seems like all irish are: green and/or drunk.

That because I see Rescue Me, where an irish-american is drunk most of the time with his also irish-american relatives.

Also I was reading some stuff of my country, and our libertator (that's the word?) was irish-chilean, Bernardo O'Higgins. So I was reading that his father (irish that worked for the Spanish in the colony) tried to colonize a town in the south of my country, mixing chileans and irish people brought from his land.

That didn't turn out well because the chileans where to lazy and the irish where most of the time... drunk.

So if history tells me that the irish are too drunk to colonize a town I think that's true :D

The smart Asian stereotype. My father is dating an Asian woman, and everyone in their family is pretty damn intelligent. They even told me themselves that in the Chinese culture you do the BEST you can do to get good grades and a good education. If my dad's girlfriend's daughter (damn, that gets annoying to say) gets a B+, she gets in trouble.

I don't know.... Almost every stereotype has exceptions

but the one that rings the most true around here is the pothead stereotype, because were I live its true for about 80% of everyone that smokes lol.

And I loled at this statement
Especially since "Honors" is spelled incorrectly.

OP: For fear of the banhammer I refuse to participate in this thread. Sorry. :p

The whole "evil/mad scientist" stereotype is starting to ring eerily true for me and some of my friends/relatives. Whenever I say something like "Well, I suppose one way to solve the population problem would be to genetically engineer an incurable disease to be more virulent and more easily spread,"I usually pause afterward and think "My goodness, that was really kind of evil. Maybe this is the first sign of my slow descent into madness..."
