Douchebag, Loud-mouthed God-bothering gun-toting americans with little to no education or knowledge. My californian and newyorker (newyorkian? what's the correct term there?) friends break the mould, but every other yank I run across falls into the above stereotype. Especially when the navy boys and girls rock in to town. Pretty sure they don't even know they're in Australia, most of the time.

I'm sure that says more about my home state and the type of tourists we attract than anything about America.
dude im right there with you on that, and im American, i gotta live with this crap as a standard.

However the gun-toting one gets me a bit confused, you'd be supprised how many people are afraid of holding a gun more than shooting it.

come to the UK meet a Chav, they live to be their own stereotypes. Normally comic satire and exaggeration of a stereotype makes people take note of negative social behaviour but not forthe chav, they seem to make idols of these comic critiques on this social subculture an emulate them! It's insane!

I'd have to say the food stereotypes with blacks. Purely because I've seen a soul foo place that serves chicken and waffles, and kool-aid.

To be fair, my countrymen consider themselves entirely too entitled, and for the most part they see nothing wrong with their behavior in the international community.
Oh I'm under no misconceptions that all americans are like that, it just seems to be the ones who come here for their holidays. Is it sorta like all the cool, intelligent, progressive people live on the coasts, and all the dumbarse twats live in the middle?

For me, jews being stingy seems pretty accurate. I'm hebrew (basically Jewish by blood, but without the religion part.
I'd always thought Jewish was the faith, Hebrew was the uhm... bloodline(? genetic line? what the hell do we call the genetic divisions between people? I know we have white, black, etc, but is there a specific term for it?) I mean, I know Jews who aren't of Hebrew descent. One of them converted when he got married, and he's as much of a white okker as ya can get. His wife fits the stereotype that you mentioned though, now I think of it.

That's exactly what I was saying lol. I'm Hebrew by descent, but I don't practice Judaism, nor have I ever.

Like most people, Asians being intelligent. The smartest students when I was in High School were always Asian and same with the generations that followed mine.

I'm southamerican so I don't hear stereotypes about the irish, but seems like all irish are: green and/or drunk.
Well I'm Irish and I can safely say that I'm perfectly sober (as a matter of fact, I don't drink), that isn't to say that the stereotype isn't true though (almost everyone I knew back in Ireland who didn't drink back then are probably drinking as we type).

As for the green bit...the colour green kicks ass, what's not to like?

People are stupid. Well known stereotype. But it is proven true a little too often in my taste.

the stereotype that all "jocks" are morons. so far I have not met a teenage sport freak who isn't dumber than a bag of bricks (and most of them were assholes).
