Hmm... I don't play many games with space aliens in them now that I think about it.

*sigh* Guess i'll be uncreative and just say Protoss or something. I honestly don't know.

But although I would have said Protoss, I would rather go by the Vortigaunts from the Half Life series. I mean, who doesn't want to be an alien that shoots lighting and that has another arm in it's torso?
Other than that, a Headcrab, maybe a Chimera from Resistance, although I do not have played, as I'm a PC gamer only.

EDIT: How could I have forgot the Combine? They are awesome, just a little too humanoid for my liking, but they still stay on my list.

Pros - Immortality; freedom from moral restraint; immunity to natural laws; general ability to show off; effectively god-like powers; ability to change shape and influence people to do all manner of ridiculous things for your amusement; massive and undying army of loyal soldiers.

Cons - Uh... having boring footsoldiers and minions?
