Well there's the villain in Just Cause 2.
He gets kicked into a nukes control panel and he the nuke flown into an oil field after having ridden the nuke while shooting at you.Shame. Such a cool death wasted on such a terrible villain.
Also Doviculus in Brutal Legend.
DECAPITATIOOOOOOOOON
Brutal but effective.

Either Judge Holloway from Silent Hill: Homecoming (Drill through the jaw) Or Diana from Dead Space 2 (dismembered with gatling guns)

Hm... I would have to go with Bioshock, Andrew Ryan's death. He is not the main villain but his death was the most impressive because you don't really kill him yourself, he made that choice himself and there is nothing you can do about it. Combined with the plot twist that moment left me just speechless.

Gravemind. Im pretty sure it died. When you have huge genocide machines in place just to kill the flood you know they are pretty damn tough.

I shall go with liquid in MGS4.
This 100000000X this. The fight is also one of the best ever put in ANY game. Gameplay wise it wasn't good. But the entire story between the characters as they both, after years of fighting against eachother, showoff for one last time, as old men.
And all along the music changes from different games And Ocelot's (i call him that, he is Ocelot, for pete's sake) fighting style changes. And he ends it off with the first thing he ever said to Solid Snake

You're Pretty Good (while giving the same gesture)

Wait he was on a halo in 3 ? I thought he was on the ark isnt that where we kill the last prophet ? Alltough he was on a halo in 2 iirc. Im confused. I need to play the game again.
He starts on halo in 2, then gets aboard high charity and goes to the ark.
THen gets All genocide machined.

Saren in ME1 - especially as I was mindlessly clicking responses, going through what seemed to be the standard evil monologue before the inevitable bossfight.

Suddenly I felt the urge to salute the guy I'd been hunting all damn game.

Dutch in Red Dead. He stands for what he believes in and even warns John that his past will catch up to him. In the end he kills himself rather than accept civilazation that he knows will be the death of him (spiritually if not actually killing him). Also he has one of the best last lines I've ever heard.
'Our Time Has Passed John.'

There's so many good ones now. I won't write out the full descriptions, for spoilers reasons and the sake of saving space.
- Andrew Ryan from Bioshock.
- Wheatley from Portal 2
- Dutch from Red Dead Redemption
- Maiden Astraea from Demon's Souls
- The Old One from Demon's Souls
- Heavy Rain (don't even want to say the name because the game is all story)

Two pop to mind, both from the same series.

And

Badass. The way you get the villain in Thief 2: The Metal age was also damned impressive though I wont link it since it wouldn't make much sense to someone who hadn't played the game anyway.

Andrew Ryan, hands down. I spent the whole game wishing for nothing more than to smack him to the floor with my tommy gun and fill him with lead.....but then he takes command of you and forces you to ram a golf club into his face. He stole form me all the urge I had to kill him, and left me shaken... Masterfully done scene, BTW.

and...

Saren. Trying to convince him of what he'd done, and then watching him fight the implants and put a gun to his head, finally finding some redemption for the insanity he pulled.

My favorite of all time is probably Dom's death in Grim Fandango. Absolute gloating, cocky, self-assured asshole from the moment he steps onscreen. Continually gets advanced above you the whole game until you're basically his office whipping boy and he's a god, destroying the afterlife for everyone...and then WELCOME TO THE MEAT GRINDER BUDDY.

Do NOT watch this if you haven't played Grim Fandango and you plan to. And if you haven't played Grim Fandango, well, jesus, you should be going somewhere to get Grim Fandango right now.

(and by the way, if the fight scene seems a little slow and clunky before Manny hits the sub, it's because you don't have to do any of that. This person was just hitting Dom a lot so they could hear all the funny dialog options first)

Since anything really I could think of's already been said...
I'd probably go with Wesker.
For no real reason other than dude sat in lava for a few minutes while he was trying to bring down a helicopter with his giant mutated arms, with two RPGs to the face being the only thing that'd make him let go.
Not exactly "arty", but you have to give the guy's persistence some credit.

The Boss. Metal Gear Solid 3.

"Spoiler!" Right, she isnt really the villain. But she is kind of your nemesis too, so yeah. The boss.

Yeah I thought Dutch was a good character too, and his death and last words were very fitting.

I would also like to add Mizo in Jak X, yes the racing one hang on a second let me explain.

I just thought the way he explains his true motivations were good and how he knew what was going on all along. He also has one of the best last villain lines ever;

"You have a habit of leaving people to die, don't you?", referencing Krew's death, and to an extent many other characters such as Damas.
