So it's pretty obviously MS is going to pull the timed exclusive thing again, I mean it worked out so well last gen and they have crap for first party studios so why wouldn't they? So anyways I'm just wondering what games will end up on ps4 that MS are advertising as exclusives. Here's a list of all "exclusives" (or multiplat games not on ps4 MS is advertising as exclusive) that aren't made by a MS first party

Exclusives

Below
Dead Rising 3
Sunset Overdrive
D4
Quantum Break

Not even Exclusives but not on ps4

MineCraft
TitanFall
Zoo Tycoon

Personally I think Dead Rising 3, minecraft and Titanfall are just a matter of time before they end up on ps4, with Quantum Break being the one that most likely won't come to ps4 being a remedy studios game and remedy is practically a second party for MS, the rest I think could go either way but I really don't see any of others as probably not coming to ps4 except for maybe zoo tycoon but that's just because I don't think anyone on ps4 will care about it. Thoughts?

I think that Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall will make it to the PS4. It will be hilarious when Titanfall does make it over to the PS4, and this cloud bullshit is exposed for the nonsense that it is.

Capcom loves money too much to not release Dead Rising 3 on the PS4! I hope so anyway, it's the only Xbox One game I like (well hope to like if it's not gone all serious) the look of. The cloud only offsets some of the grunt for Titanfall, so that could be put back on the disc or PS4 HDD without too much of an ill-effect on the game, I think. So maybe. As for the rest I think they might stay on the Xbox One.

I also think that Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall will be shifted over to PS4.

I haven't decided if I'll get the Xbox One or PS4 yet but if I got the PS4 I hope Below will get released for it. I adored Swords & Sworcery and it had such a great soundtrack.

Well surely all the exclusives will be timed, some longer then others, like Halo and Gears that might take a few more decades.

I think a lot of them might be exclusive. The original Bioshock is a 360 exclusive right? Microsoft are willing to pay a lot for exclusivity at the start of a console generation. However I predict that only the games actually made by first-party companies (and Remedy) will remain exclusive for the sequels. The only reason companies can get away with buying exclusivity is that with the low install bases on launch it doesn't cost so much to ignore half your market. Capcom won't be able to ignore so many millions of people once the PS4 has established itself.

You do know the cloud is just a bunch of servers, and Sony used dedicated servers for online for the entire last gen in their first party games, and cloud computing is completely useless so the cloud offsets nothing, it's just a PR way of saying it has dedicated servers. Nothing cloud related is exclusive to xbox one.

Dead Rising 3 was obviously made with the Wii U in mind, so that's definitely going to be multiplatform.
Um what?

Nope.

I have a feeling that Ryse will hit PC at some point. And no-one will care.

Cheers I knew about the PC but not about the PS3 release, I think people tend to treat 'console exclusive''s as general exclusives. I imagine a lot of people deciding between a PS4/One probably don't have PCs that could run most of these games, or gaming habits that suit the PC.

And thinking about it, Mass Effect 1 came out on the PS3 eventually (admittedly as a digital download)

In that case I imagine Microsoft did just purchase a long timed exclusive on most of these then. Probably at least a year given that the shorter ones they actually called timed exclusives but I wouldn't be surprised if Titanfall hits the PS4 before Titanfall 2 comes out (as a multiplatform release of course)

I thought you were being sarcastic as bioshock is one of the more well known timed exclusives lol. As for Mass Effect MS actually sold the rights to the series to EA and there was something in it saying they couldn't put ME1 on ps3 but EA found a loop hole lol. Anyways yeah a lot of timed exclusives last gen and this gen it looks to be more of that, it's one of the business practices I hate the most, I mean it's one thing if you help fund the game as a publisher it's another if you just pay for it to not come to your competition. Also console exclusive is such a stupid saying if it was console exclusive it wouldn't be on pc since it'd be exclusive to consoles lol and I don't get why people tend to not count it, it's a viable platform albeit not in as direct competition as the big three (or rather MS and Sony as Nintendo is in corner eating paste currently)

Honestly Capcom loves money too much to keep DR3 exclusive to the Xbox One. I've said from the beginning that DR3 is going to be a timed exclusive and nothing more than that. Titanfall is also already coming to the PC so I wouldn't be surprised if it got a PS4 port. Exclusivity is something that is starting to go away more and more as developers and publishers try to get as much money as they can to fuel their broken AAA game making formula.
As for Minecraft I could've sworn Notch said something about him bringing it to all platforms once the contract with Microsoft runs out.
Edit: Found it, but doesn't look good for the Wii U though which I find weird because I could see you using the Gamepad as your inventory screen.

I think they are referring to the Smartglass exclusive stuff that DR3 will have if you have a device with the Smartglass app. I can see it being tailored for the Wii U after some time, but probably not for a while.

I don't think exclusivity is going anywhere I just think MS pays for timed exclusives which makes it harder to tell which ones are exclusives. As for the smart glass thing, I get how someone could think it was made for wiiU in mind but those are just tacked on gimmick crap the game is obviously beyond wiiU, if it was going to wiiU it'd be going to ps3/360 too.

True, but it's still possible with downgrading for it to come to the Wii U. Personally I hate timed exclusives more than just regular full on console/PC exclusives because usually whenever the game is ported it gets better updates and usually some reworking done to it on the ports. This was the case with the BioShock port to the PS3 if I remember correctly. Mainly though when I saw a lot of the games at MS conference I was listening carefully for the words exclusive and could tell which ones would more than likely be timed exclusives. Eventually though some companies are gonna hopefully refuse MS' money for timed exclusives, but who am I kidding that's not gonna happen. XD

Uh... all of them? Even with the 180 on DRM, I'm sure the Xbox One won't sell nearly as many copies as any publisher is hoping for.

Insomniac has been with Sony basically forever. I do not believe that Sunset Overdrive will remain an Xbone exclusive.

I don't actually know much at all about D4, Quantum Break or Below. But Dead Rising found its way to the Wii, and Dead Rising 2 was on PS3. So it doesn't make sense for 3 to be exclusive.

Watch the trailer again. Look who the publisher is. Sunset isn't going anywhere.

I'm not sure about the rest. I don't have enough data to make any reasonable prediction. Dead Rising 3 might, simply for the fact that 2 was multi. The new IP is a crap-shoot though.

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhh, fuck.

I'm not even really that interested in Sunset Overdrive, and that's still a real disappointment.

Basically nowadays, any games announced as exclusives, unless they are published by the platform holders, are timed. PC versions are a different beast all together. There is too much money to be made for the 3rd party publishers to lose the revenue. As well as it would not be worth the cost to the platform holders to keep it permanently exclusive. Mass Effect was an abberation. MS didn't own the IP rights and when BioWare was bought out by EA, I'm sure some legal buy out clause went into effect or EA and MS made a deal or something. I'm reasonably sure that if BioWare wasn't bought out then Mass Effect would have stayed exclusive.

Sony and MS go in different directions when getting things from publishers. MS goes for exclusivity time (which may cause the game to be more polished on the other systems as the developers simply have more time to fix bugs, etc), whereas Sony goes for extra in game stuff (which may or may not end up on the other console, usually as DLC if it does).
