a cup of sugar would actually be 200 millilitres, cause a cup is metric. booya.
But no-one ever would measure sugar in millilitres, its measured in grams. Of course you still would use a cup to borrow some. But a recipe would tell you to use 150 grams or such.

form a physics point of view, give me metric.

in a bar, give me a pint. Or better yet, give me several pints.
I like your logic. Pints are great.

Ot: We only officially changed to metric here a few years ago, so I still use a lot of imperial measurements out of habit. Miles/inches whatever. I don't know my height in centimetres, but I could tell you in inches. Same for my weight, and I've a much easier time imagining weights in stone rather than Kilos. But you must convert. We all have to.
