These Gentlemen below are in my opinion The Most Badass Motherfuckers to walk the face of the earth. and as you can see, their all smoking pipes. i think you can find the connection between badass motherfuckery and pipe smoking by yourselves.

Anyone that's won one of these.

Also Lev Landau, a theoretical physicist who has contributed to every field and describes his year in the Gulag as being "a bit rough".

I've said it once and I will say it again, Morgan Freeman is a BAMF.

If you were being serious however, i think Tsutomu Yamaguchi, the only man to survive 2 atomic bombings was a pretty big bad ass.

Seconded. It blows my mind reading some of the things these people have done, and how they actually survived it. Some of those guys are just plain scary (Wolf the Quarrelsome, Leo Major)

My mother (Trust me on this one, she was born in a town called Gimli.. she's badass)

Also, why do you all seem to assume only men are badass?

He shot Nazis with a longbow, chopped 'em up with a sword and generally didn't give a fuck.
Volunteered for the newly formed Commandos because it sounded dangerous .

Sergeant York and General Patton. They both had movies dedicated to how awesome they were and those movies were VERY accurate.

Off the top of my head.

Miyamoto Musashi: Considered one of Feudal Japan's greatest samurai/ronin. Said to have one over 100 duels and never lost.
Theodore Roosevelt: Considered one of America's greatest Presidents.
Simo Häyä: One of history's greatest snipers. He killed over 500 men in a three month war between Russia and Finland. Using a bolt action rifle with iron sights and a machine gun.

Was already beaten to Chuck Norris, damnit.

Started reading Moby Dick for the first time today, but I'd say Ishmael is a baller. (Then again, only the first chapter.)
