Randy Waterhouse from Cryptonomicon. That is some serious cereal eating that.

Dr. Doomsduck said:
That is a wholly subjective definition, as both sides have garnished the same bad (or good) name. And that's not even accounting for the hijinks of language since the meaning of 'Nerd' depends on where you're born. For example In my country, the word geek is never used whereas the word Nerd is used to describe people who are eccentrically devoted to a particular subject, be they a study or otherwise. I think that people who identify themselves as 'nerd' are frequently the same people who identify themselves as 'geek' and to exclude one group from the other only creates more discord in an already fragmented group of people.

tl;dr You don't get points for semantics, OP meant the overarching term.

Unless of course you thought we were talking about carnival performers who perform sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, which is also a definition of geek. In that case, I apologize.

Now, as for answering the question, Daniel Jackson from Stargate, Wash from Firefly and Ami Mizuno from Sailor Moon.
Hmmm. I see where you're coming from, but I still disagree. Personally, I go on the actual definition from the present, and if that definition changes I will use whatever term is most appropriate. Though 'nerd' and 'geek' are by no means mutually exclusive I feel that suggesting that makes them the same thing is simply wrong, and whilst I'm not so petty as to be offended by a simple mistake the frequency by which it appears - as I said - is becoming somewhat of a thorn in my arse.

Nothing but Algie from Bully. NOTHING BUT ALGIE. Seriously, who doesn't like this lovable, dorky bastard? He is every stereotype in existence yet so hilarious...

His role in the game is pretty funny all things considered. He ended up being the leader of a nerdy cult. I dunno what makes him so amusing, but his voice acting and animation sure helps.

Well Edward (Cowboy Bebop) has already been pretty well established here so I guess I'll go with Stein from Soul Eater.

I think I'll go for Madarame from Genshiken (the manga, not the anime which sucks).

Starts off as this militant nerd, which makes for comedy gold between him and miss Kasukabe who fucking hates nerd culture, but he mellows down as the story progresses. He also has a super secret impossible crush on said girl, making him all too endearing.
