My personal favourites are darkmindedsith, odinspack33 and griffinlobster. My other favourite is vash12349 but he really doesn't consider himself as a let's player.

I am going to bump up the Canadians: Quill18, Northrenlion, and Sips from Yogscast (also independent).
I also like Shenryr (which I found through Quill18), Trump (for the Hearthstone), and Jesse Cox (for whenever I don't care if someone is terrible at the game that he is playing and just want a laugh)

I only really enjoy lets plays with professional or very skilled players who practically only feature that game and a few others on their channels, it's a learning thing kind of.

I can't really stand any of the lets players who crap out thousands of videos a year that are packed with terrible jokes only an American would enjoy. (eg. Game Grumps, Marki/Pewds, Rooster Teeth (my flatmate watches that shit all day))

The Yogscast, especially Sjin, Nilesy, Strife, and occasionally Rythian when he picks a fun-looking game.
Jesse Cox, but only if the game he's playing interests me.
Achievement Hunter. Guys playing games with games, hard to go wrong with that.
TeamFourStar, especially Two Sayians Play and Renegade for Life.

Other than that, LPs tend to be pretty dull...

I like some of the "gimmicky" guys, like Cornshaq and HCBailly.

I also watch SlimKirby, Odinspack, Chuggaconroy, and UltraJMan ("YOU DID NOT JUST CRASH!!!").

Tetraninja is fun if you like blind plays that don't edit out the screw ups. Though more than once he's missed something blatantly obvious and I end up shouting at my monitor.

Ghostrobo is fun for mmostly the same reasons but his voice kinda gets grating after awhile for me.

My favorite is Nakateleeli. He does a rather eclectic mix of games but anything he does with his friend ElementalOgre is hilarious. Any of his Mario or Kirby LP's are more than worth your time. A definite must see is Dora the Explorer and the Pirate Pig's Treasure. He started it while still doped up after getting his wisdom teeth pulled and he is having an almost criminal amount of fun.

Helloween4545, dear ol' Helloween... Been following him for years. It's a small, basic little channel and all the sweeter for it. It's fun seeing LPs of games I don't particularly want to play, but rather like learning more about.

His main content is horror games, and he has been rather desensitised over the years, and was probably not easily frightened from the beginning. I just love it when he looks at some horriphic scenery and doesn't even bat an eye. Or the precious few times when he really does get scared.

I also love the Yogscast. Not the most refined thing to admit, considering the core fanbase is likely much younger than me, but again, it's just some damn good fun. The sheer scale of that channel gives them alot of elbow room to do fun stuff for its own sake.

For me, they fill sort of the same role as Top Gear. I'm not particularly interested in their skills at the game (such as they are), I'm just there for the tomfoolery and the inevitable disasters. The humour is rather blunt, but that's good enough for what it tries to be.

Tobuscus provides low-brow, insightless commentary, much of which has nothing to do with the game or anything at all. He frequently sings, makes unfunny jokes, and can come off as an idiot.

And yet I love the guy and his LPs.

ChuggaConroy, ProtonjonSA, and NintendoCapriSun introduced me to LP's in general, so I hold them in pretty high regard.

I got to watching Jessecox/OMFGcata after TotalBiscuit's Terraria collab.

I got into watching the Yogscast when they where still doing Shadow of Israphel. After that fell through, I began watching their content regularly (and watching some of the spinoff accounts, like Hannah, Duncan, and Rythian).
