Similar to this, I can't think of a list of even 5 of my favourite protagonists.

Most of the time, my favourite character in a movie/game isn't the main protagonist.

A good example of this is with Leonardo DiCaprio. He's been the protagonist in movies like Inception, Blood Diamond and The Departed. However, I find him utterly annoying and bland to watch. These are still great movies with great characters though.

The Departed is one of my all-time favourite movies because of the great characters, and Blood Diamond is also good. Inception was decent, but not amazing.

Since this thread is about protagonists, I'll give it a go. In no particular order;

It is David Tennant as The Doctor.
His name is The Doctor. "Who" is only the word that was uttered by The Doctor himself in the second episode of the first story arch that aired on November, 23, 1963.

His soon to be traveling companion, Ian Chesterton, called The Doctor, Doctor Foreman, because The Doctor's granddaughter went by the last name of Foreman as a ruse so that she could attend a human school.

Ian: So Doctor Foreman......

The Doctor: Doctor who?

And ever since, most times when The Doctor Introduces himself to people, they say, "Doctor who?"
I just had to get that out there. I cringe every time somebody says "Doctor Who" when referring to The Doctor.

And you might change your mind if you do see SW ep V - that one's mostly about Han at his most awesome (and Luke at his most whiny).
