Well i didn't and from the internet washing a tsunami of bile across the game, i can honestly say i'm glad i didn't. I actually haven't played any of the Mass Effects, So no real stake for me. I just get to sit back and have a good laugh.

So if you didn't buy it are you planning to buy it or just skip it? If they change the ending would consider buying then?

Tsunami of bile might be a bit... much to say personaly.

I didn't buy it, I decided to wait until it was on discount, or find a used copy maybe (note, that is NEVER going to happen purely because I want a PC version)?

...knowing me there could have been an offer already that I failed to notice or something...

You made the right choice, buying a game on release date has been the stupidest move ive ever made as a consumer, one I will not repeat again.

Mass effect 1 is probably one of the best sci-fi rpgs. Mass Effect 2 is good as well. but that final game is a dozy. That final game manages to invalidate everything. it manages to make the entire series feel generic and bland. It ruins all re-playability for the entire series. It will destroy your favourite characters. Vandalize the lore and wreck havoc on the plot.

STAY AWAY! YOU WILL ONLY FIND GREAT ANGUISH WITHIN.
Its the fucking ending that ruins everything, not the game, you seem hell bent on passing on your ignorance off as enlightenment.

I had an odd feeling that ME3 would do...something. I don't know, something that would make me regret buying it. I really dodged a bullet. The worst part is watching a let's play of the game, the rest of the game besides the ending is, well, pretty damn good. A bit linear for my liking in Mass Effect, but still, 9/10 material. The ending, however, ruins any replayability. Why not do an ending similar to ME2? in the sense that groups you helped fighting it out, killing the Reapers in a joint mission on par to the, well, Normandy invasion on D-Day. Come on, Bioware, that's a wonderful, NON FORCED, allegory, rather then your "Adam and Eve" shit. Whatever...this is just a bothersome scenario. I'm just glad I didn't spend 60 dollars to find out the hard way.

I'm going to get it when university finishes in the summer. I'm still quite interested to play it, and given the fact I did prefer ME2 to the first I'm interested to see on if I'm going to agree on 3 with the many people I know who preferred the first.

I'm just waiting for the price to drop down to twenty bucks.

I like the ME series as a whole, but I don't find it worth more than that to be honest. Granted, I'd probably be more inclined to pick up DLC in future (as I've already surprised myself by getting some of the ME2 variety) by buying it at that price, but I still have to say I tend to shy away from major Day 1 purchases as the price generally doesn't take that long to drop down once the initial hooplah is over.

Skipping, for now...

Waiting for 'Mass Effect 3: The Entire Fucking Game - Finished Product Edition'

Besides, Xenoblade drops in about 2 weeks, and that's a game where I KNOW I'm getting a whole game for $50...

I played some ME at a friend's house and... let's say I was less than impressed. So I skipped the whole series. In the future, when I can buy the whole wazoo for some 10 - 20 US$ at Steam, I might give it another go.

So, far, I regret nothing.

I still need to play the first two before contemplating buying ME3, however saying that currently Fallout 3 is occupying my time and that will be followed by New Vegas.

I haven't, both because I don't feel like getting Origin and because the gameplay and storytelling don't really appeal to me.

Neither ME2 nor ME3. They ticked me off in ME1 by calling it an RPG and making it a (not very good) arcade shooter with dialogue trees. Which was acceptable, but then they projected their masturbatory fantasies into my sci-fi adventure sim.

So no more money for Bioware. I can accept design or execution failures as long as the intent is good, but I can't accept being forced to roleplay someone else's crotch-for-brains mentality.

And no, I never played Leisure Suit Larry either. True to myself I am :p

I couldn't even get excited well before release. I didn't care one bit when it came out.

I tried replaying ME1 and didn't even get off the Citadel. Going through ME2 again would just be work, not fun play. Playing Mass Effect just isn't exciting me at the moment.

Now, I'm laughing at everybody who went through everything for that shitty ending.

Greetings, my fellow skin-flint... I've never knowingly purchased a game for more than about USD25... and even then I sure as hell regreted it... (MW2)

OT: I haven't even started playing ME2 yet, so it'll be a while yet before I get ME3.

I haven't . I'm not a big fan of mass effect althought i have played the two previous ones . I'll buy it when it drops to 20$ just to finish the story . My standards are lower than everyone elses when it comes tO mass effect , so i'm pretty sure i won't mind the ending .

Was planning to but it was a choice between ME3 and Crusader kings 2, and I wanted to see whether that prothean character would turn out to be important and so worth buying along with ME3 ( remember when that was what was controversial?), ill probably get it eventually as i am still invested in the universe but ill wait for a price cut.

I've never played Mass Effect, actually. I have toyed with the idea of playing it before, but nah. I also played the ME3 demo and found it incredibly dull, so that put me off the game. Even if I was interested, I probabaly wouldn't have bought ME3 until the price had dropped to about £20-£25, being the cheapskate that I am.

I haven't bought it because I'm only half way through the second game now. I might buy it when I beat ME2 and the game gets cheaper.

I still haven't beaten first, still haven't even installed the second, and I'm not getting the infamous service of Origin just so that it can tell me that my PC is probably of insufficient specs to run the third.
