I didn't, but that's mostly because a) I'm broke and b) I refuse to buy anything associated with EA.

I never got into the first game, I downloaded a pirated version from my friend but the textures were broken so it looked like an n64 game.

All I heard about the second game was Tali and all the f-ing romances. Thats all people blabbed on and on and on and on about for years was their f-ing kawaii desu alien romances. Could you get into a game if thats all YOU ever heard about it? It was nauseating. That and all the hype made me not really interested in it. Luckily my friend got 2 free copies of the game when he went to comicon, so I got one. I played 75% of it using mainly Mordin because he is the only funny one of the group. Its an alright third person shooter with dialogue options that dont really matter. I mean, they dont really matter. You can humor yourself that each action you make affects individual story elements that combine to create the most elaborate game ever created, but thats just being silly.

The third game I don't see a point in buying or playing. Why do I need to "finish my sherpards story" or some shit again? The second game had good enough backstory so I didnt need to play the first, and a good enough ending of YOU SAVE ALL THE HUMANS that I don't see a need in playing a sequal. Especially when the sequel is 60 dollars with content cut for dlc and a supposedly shitty ending. Maybe when its like, a complete edition for 20 bucks in the near future, but by then Bioware will have probably made some new Mass Effect shooter.

I'm 19 btw if you're curious about my age, and I have never gone onto bioware forums or really any forums to rant about how "bad" or "good" any of the games are because thats petty and childish. I am not trying to be a negative nancy, but the games to me just seem alright. Not too amazing, kinda bland in a lot of places, and some terrible facial animations.

After getting BF3 I've been boycotting Origin, so I didn't get ME3 yet. I play PC only so Origin is required right now. Extra annoying since I own ME1 and 2 on Steam. I'll still play BF3 becuase I have it, but I'm not getting anything else until they improve that service. Which they actually have been doing at a faster pace than expected I have to admit. Then the Day 1 Prothean DLC was announced and I had another reason to boycott it.

Good thing too since I know I'd have raged about the ending now that I know the details. So now I just hope that eventually these issues get resolved so I can finish my trilogy.

Mass effect 1 is probably one of the best sci-fi rpgs. Mass Effect 2 is good as well. but that final game is a dozy. That final game manages to invalidate everything. it manages to make the entire series feel generic and bland. It ruins all re-playability for the entire series. It will destroy your favourite characters. Vandalize the lore and wreck havoc on the plot.

STAY AWAY! YOU WILL ONLY FIND GREAT ANGUISH WITHIN.
After they killed Mordin and Thane I kinda gave up.

I did not.

Learning in late December that it was an Origin only release was a real disappointment. However after learning about the DLC and more recently the ending, the disappointment has turned to smug satisfaction.

I may get it, if comes up in a Steam sale.

I didn't get it because I played ME2 for a bit, then stopped because it wasn't very good. At all.

I grew a small amount of hate for BioWare from playing ME2 for those few hours and have been enjoying the hate very much.

Solid game, worth every penny, a multiplayer system I can get behind (for once) . An engaging story of impending doom, sacrifice and how far hope can carry you, That death doesn't mean the end.

Then that fucking ending.

Skipping, for now...

Waiting for 'Mass Effect 3: The Entire Fucking Game - Finished Product Edition'

Besides, Xenoblade drops in about 2 weeks, and that's a game where I KNOW I'm getting a whole game for $50...
yep same here and I wont be getting the finished product edition until its pretty cheap ME2 was quite fun but honestly I can take or leave the series now its vastly overrated (like all popular game series) and I have other games I would rather play.If one of my friends get the game I may even just borrow it from them (if I have time) so EA dont get a single penny.

Youre in for a treat with Xenoblade Chronicles (probably) it took me 130 hours on the first playthrough to do it all and I enjoyed every minute (well except the five hours of grinding that was just passable) but it is huge and dosent feel drawn out at all.

I didn't because I haven't played the first two. They have been on my 'to-play' list for a long time, but I don't have nearly as much gaming time nowadays anyway and I still have a backlog of games I own but have never played to get through, then AC Revelations and FF XIII-2 are my next planned purchases, so Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 will all be on the back burner for a good while :p

I've never seen or played so much as a nanosecond of any Mass Effect game. The fact that everyone masturbates to the very thought of the game is enough to keep me away. The very mention of the thing is enough to make me sick.

Played Mass Effect 1 and it was a pretty cool game, but after that I went on my "voting with my wallet against EA in general" deal and so I do not have Mass Effect 3. Honestly with all the crazy arguing with the ending I am not a bit torn up about not having it.

I have been delaying the inevitable by putting off my involvement in the Mass Effect franchise for as long as possible. I neglected to hop the bandwagon years past when the first game was released, and kind of went my own way from there. Being a devoted Bioware fan, however, and given that I track rather closely their every effort, it scares and bewilders me the turn they have taken; so my propensity towards Mass Effect has somewhat diminished to the point where I still want to play the games because I hear nothing about how excellent they are (sometimes from unreliable sources but there have been many credible ones also), but I don't want to marry myself to the series because of what will undoubtedly lead to ultimate disappointment. It's kind of like my hesitation to watch Firefly.

EDIT: Also I am just that goddamn poor you guys, serious.

Well.. let's just say I don't regret buying ME3 but I really regret getting it at it's full price since the ending felt like I just got scammed out of my wits. No Bioware, as much as I love you I will not fall for buying DLC to make up the ending like you suggested me to.

The whole series is great, the adventure was worth the experience and I fell hard for Tali. Darn how much she makes me smile because I never seen a character so developed before. But darn the ME3 ending.. it makes me feel like my choices in all three games don't matter. I can mess around and get the exact same endings if I worked my butt off to make every right choice which I would still end with the same results.
You've said everything I was thinking of saying in your first paragraph. Keelah Se'lai, brother :O

Also, I thought I had seen everything until I saw a drunk Tali. That was hilarious.
It might be a while until I feel like replaying ME3. As great as a game that it is, I'm getting discouraged from replaying it due to the ending.

Captcha: Silence is golden.
Captcha is telling me to shut up about ME3 already :I

I didnt. However it has nothing to do with the ending, and everything to do with the price tag simply not being worth it yet. I WILL eventually buy it but not until its pricetag is more appropriate to my level of commitment to the franchise which would be in the 10-20$ range.

However before that happens I will likely rent it long term for a base playthru to get the canon of the series. Then likely buy once all the DLC has been released. Typically the same thing I do with about 80% of games I buy.

i haven't bought it purely on lack of funds. that being said when i finally do have the money chances are that a new shiny game would have been released and i will probably buy that. ME3 is defiantly on my to play list but im fickle as hell when it comes to games and i will more than likely simply forget about it. pretty much exactly what happened with Archam City.

I've never bought any Mass Effect game because they just don't seem all that interesting. I've tried them out a bit and I really don't get most of the hype. Now don't get me wrong, they're okay games. However, there are much better games around and I won't have time for Mass Effect until I play the more fascinating games.
