I never bought a single Mass Effect game since (to me) it looks like generic sci-fi action with a pretentious storyline.

I haven't buy it because I didn't play the first two Mass Effects and because I just never got around to playing them. The outcry over the ending doesn't make sense to me and such I don't take part in any Mass Effect Bioware conversations except this one.

I only ever played Mass Effect 1 & 2 for less than an hour because they bored me so quickly.
I rented Mass Effect 3 and experienced the same thing.
Seems like a horrible game series and apparently the ending is bad?
Does renting count as buying in this? In the middle I guess.

Haha thank you for that, really.

What's really sad is that the characters are just so likable which makes you feel all the worse when you reach ME3's ending. Garrus actually feel like a long time friend I always look forward to seeing to, Liara being an incredible supporting friend who stands by me even though she loves me, Tali.. oh man you're just the best Mass Effect has to offer. Your emotions are really believable while you stay in character plus you are actually based on loving Shepard for.. helping people. All the more to every character.. I couldn't even have Wrex get killed on that one big mission because I really respected him.

But yea.. the ending screws everything.

I mean, Joker running away from the beam with your whole crew on it? Why did they abandon me when I am trying to save the galaxy on one final mission? What doesn't make sense is that the laser from the Reaper as we ran for Citedal's beam killed everyone including Garrus and Tali in cold blood on the floor. So how did they end up being on the Normandy after? Not to mention the universe is screwed and everyone on Earth will starve since the Mass Relays been destroyed.

It's just horrible. The ending didn't have to be rainbows and butterflies but it just felt so.. hollow leaving way to many questions in the air and being really weird overall. Heck, all 16 endings are literally 95% the same just very minor in some things mainly color.
Garrus, oh God. They created him perfectly. Garrus is such a bro. Whether romanced or as a friend, he is downright amazing.
Interestingly enough, you pointed out one of my main issues. Sure, the ending is one big issue really, but I mean the crew members. I took Liara and Garrus and had I known better, I would have left them behind. Yet once everything is said and done with, I see Liara coming out of the Normandy. Really? Just...how? Don't get me wrong, that's great. I love seeing Liara alive, but what the hell did I just miss?

Yeah, I didn't mind Shepard dying. In fact, that's what I expected going in, but it's just...come on! Then the whole Stargazer scene felt like an insult to injury.
There were 16 endings? Really? I thought it was just 3 of the same exact ones with different colored explosions. :/

People, Mass Effect isn't a terrible series. It's actually a great one and shouldn't be avoided due to the ending. Just beware when you get there though.

I played the first one for an hour and couldn't get into it; played the second one for an hour and couldn't get into it.

So, I had no real interest in the final installment, which is handy since it's nigh on impossible to find new titles in Glasgow at the moment.

I haven't bought it yet, but I will eventually. A few friends of mine have played it, and even thought they are divided on the ending, they all agree that the game up until then is quite good. So yeah, someday, when it drops in price, I'll probably grab it.

I was interested in buying it, but after seeing some backlash and such, I'm glad that I didn't fork out for a brand new copy, I'll probably bend for a pre-owned one when the price drops.
Still looking forward to giving it a go, mind.

I didn't buy it because, frankly, it doesn't really grab me. I have ME and I've started a few characters on it (I was actually somewhat fond of my Sam Vimes inspired Shepard), but I get partway through the game and realize that I've lost interest and I'd rather be playing something else.

Skipping, for now...

Waiting for 'Mass Effect 3: The Entire Fucking Game - Finished Product Edition'
This. Also, if they're going to make a new ending or five, and change or rewrite numerous other things, I don't want to have to play it a thousand times to see the "right" version.

Besides, Xenoblade drops in about 2 weeks, and that's a game where I KNOW I'm getting a whole game for $50...
This made me crap my dacks for a second there. I thought you meant it was coming to PS3 or 360. But then I checked wiki and saw that you poor North Americans have had to wait 8 months longer then us Europeans. Sucks you had to wait that long dude, but it'll be worth it. Xenoblade is mind blowing. It'll probably make ME3 looking like a kiddies tale if you play it first.

I don't have it, I'll get it later. I usually wait for games and there are plenty on by to-play list that are cheeper. Plus the only compliant I ever hear is about the ending, actually it is about the only thing I hear about it. A bad ending, which I am prepared to be the most abysmal thing ever created based on fan reaction, is only a small part of the game. I don't think there is an ending plot hole ridden, depressing, or inconclusive enough to possibly live up to the fan reaction. If it does, then I'll just find it so bad it is impressive.

I got bored about halfway through the first game, and haven't touched the series since then.

So yeah, I didn't buy ME3. I really don't buy a lot of video games anymore.

Well i didn't and from the internet washing a tsunami of bile across the game, i can honestly say i'm glad i didn't. I actually haven't played any of the Mass Effects, So no real stake for me. I just get to sit back and have a good laugh.

So if you didn't buy it are you planning to buy it or just skip it? If they change the ending would consider buying then?
Game was amazing.

Ending was amazingly shit-sandwhich.
