Waiting for the GOTY version as by then I will have finished some of my backlog of games. Also get a nice discount by waiting that long.

You really had to make a thread for this? Really? Just to tell us you didn't buy something because you don't like it? I didn't buy a mars bar today. Why? I don't like them.
Did you post in all the threads about Skyrim that only seemed to be about Australians rubbing it in other people's faces for the 10 hour early thing and tell them how pointless that might seem to some people? I know i wanted to :p

Seriously though i'm really fed up with hype and personally i've been playing through Uncharted 3 the last couple days. Now i have to finish Arkham City too so i don't see myself picking up Skyrim anytime soon (if at all). I guess Bethesda's rpgs just aren't my thing. I have tried Oblivion before and i have New Vegas myself (haven't played much of it), but i just think they're too slow for my taste.

We'll see what happens though, when the price drops i might welcome what is apparently the second coming of Christ into my gaming library.

/raise hand.

I'm going to get it but have to decide between the pc or ps3 version. Depends on how buggy and console-ized the pc version is, and how much better is graphics really are. If the pc version is very buggy and console-ized with mild graphical improvements, then the ps3 version. Game reviews are vague as usual as to which is really the best, so I'll wait a week or two for player feedback.

I didn't buy it. I'll wait a year for the price to drop and all the dlc to come packaged with it.

I've never been a big fan of Bethseda's RPGs. I tried to enjoy Fallout 3, I really did, it just wasn't my thing. I won't even bother with The Elder Scrolls, because I also do not like Fantasy settings.

Hang on, not getting it till after the exam, playing other games to fill the gap.... You don't happen to be me do you? And are you doing some sort of maths exam?
Oh god no, I'm a humanities student all the way. It's a history exam. It'd be a pretty cool if we were the same person, though.

See, judging by FO3/Oblivion, and how I've played those, Skyrim is going to be a HUGE timesink for me, so I figured I'd fill the time with a shorter game. Which sadly also ended up being a huge timesink. Either way, I don't seem to be studying because I'm irrational.

And the person who's giving it to me finally caved; I'm getting it tomorrow. Feels good.

In response to your question, who didn't buy skyrim today?

Probably a few billion people.

I bought it yesterday! hurrah! And I'm loving it to bits.
What the fuck is wrong with you? You don't like Mars Bars? What. The. Fuck.

Anyway, I didn't buy it either. My friend did though, and I watched him play the first half hour or so, and it seems pretty good. I might have ti get it to myself.

Its probably been said many times already, but I don't feel like reading a 10 page thread at 130 in the bloody morning.

I played Morrowind, many times, and it was a great game. I played Oblivion twice, and the 2nd time was just to play a bad guy and do the Dark Brotherhood stuff that I skipped over the first time because good guys dont go about killing people for money....well, at least not in that way.

Until I hear that Skyrim is not Oblivion 2, I'm not getting it, and I'm pretty sure that Skyrim is Oblivion 2, no matter what "pro" reviewers and/or fans say.

I didn't.. well.. technically.

I pre-ordered a long time ago and I'm still waiting on delivery. More and more I'm asking myself why I didn't just pre-order it at a store so I could have picked it up. I really really hope they deliver on Saturdays in my area or I'm going to have to wait until Monday..

I didn't want Skyrim, because it's a WRPG.

It's not just because it's not from Japan or anything like that, but it's the WRPG fans and developers who seem to think that JRPG's are garbage because they don't base the entire game on choices, like choices really matter that much or because the main characters aren't typically a boring Orc or simple boring realistic Knight.

I dislike how WRPG's tend to focus more on boring medival settings and slaying dragons and I dislike how WRPG's tend to have a lot of bugs or design blunders that really show the uncanny valley.

I also dislike how slow paced WRPG's tend to be. They seem to put me to sleep, and I'm not actually joking. Every time I tried to play Fallout3 (and I really tried to like that game, I spent 60 dollars on it!), I would fall asleep on it.

All the shops were closed yesterday because of a 'national?) holiday. Same thing happened the day Uncharted 3 got released.
I'll pick up Skyrim in about an hour when local shops start opening their doors.

I've never played an Elder Scrolls game. A couple of my friends have tried to get me to play them, but I just don't have the time now to play much of anything. So, if someone can make the game seem worth the 60 or so dollars, I'll go out and buy it. Until then, it's work and stage crew.
