Rude or not, the show is satirical and comedy based like the daily show or colbert report, canada jokes like that have been done to death by every comedian and their mother, why are you getting up in arms about this?
The difference is that the Daily Show and the Colbert Report have never, to the best of my recollection, denigrated the efforts of friendly military forces. If they were just saying "Canada's military needs a break lol" then everybody would write it off as more unfunny nonsense from the Fox network. This segment completely ignored the fantastic and incredibly difficult work that the Canadian military is doing in Afghanistan, instead characterizing Canada as a country that hides behind the United States like a bunch of cowards. That is pretty clearly offensive; if the Daily Show or the Colbert Report implied that any military force was a bunch of cowards you can bet people would be pissed off about that, too.
Like every comedians joke about the french surrendering/white flag/running away is that offensive to? It's a comedy show on late at night so what if it makes jokes that are offensive. How does it in anyway effect your life? A. it doesnt so why get pissy about it?

Fox news get a lot hate for doing the same thing other networks do.Why is it ok for lets say CNN to have commentary and be viewed as commentary but fox commentary is viewed as news. It's because most people are to stupid or lazy to find out the truth for them-self. I'm give you an example most gays & lesbians vote for Obama but before the election he made it clear that he was against gay right now their like if I only knew. Fox is like any other news network it breaks its big stories it makes its mistakes and it beats stories to death.

Wow look at some of those comments in that video. Also Tom Green's new show really is terrible. I'm glad I never watched it before.

I'm Canadian and I find it somewhat rude, but also I know it's sensationalist fox news and they get all their ratings by just making shit up and bashing everything while chanting "USA USA USA!" I probably have way more jokes about our military than these faux news people have lol.

I'm well aware out military is quite small , mainly due to our population of roughly only 40 million and just our generally relaxed attitude. But being only 40 million in population and more left wing, millitary funding isn't really the largest priority here. We much prefer to spend our tax money on education, social wellness, health care and other things I'd deem more important.

Apparently, our air force and special forces are VERY well trained, but that's only what I've heard form people in the military so I'd take what they say with a grain of salt. Our forces in Afghanistan are spread very very thin since we are involved in numerous peace keeping activities concurrently, and I personally believe if we need to withdraw we may as well. What do they expect? We're low on supplies so we'll just leave our troops over there so they can rot in the desert and die of heatstroke? It's not even our mess, we just tried to help out as best we could where we could with what we had.

People make fun of France because France has lost a bunch of wars. If France was involved in a major military campaign right now and Fox came along and shat all over them for it, people would get pissed off.

Canadians are pissed off about this because it shits all over our military for doing a very good job at fighting America's war for them. Canada has little to no national interest in fighting in Afghanistan; the decision to commit to fighting in Kandahar, the hairiest of Afghanistan's provinces, was primarily made in order to improve relations with the States after we decided not to follow Bush into Iraq. This statement is therefore extremely offensive. No, it doesn't directly affect me; no, it doesn't directly affect Canadian military personnell; yes, it is incredibly offensive to both.

First, this is barely commentary - this is just offensive drivel. Second, the reason CNN can get away with commentary more than Fox (and keep in mind that I'm not saying that I approve of CNN very much, either) is because CNN separates their reporting from their commentary considerably more than Fox does - on Fox, it's pretty much pure commentary, always delivered with a label that reads "news" on it. Finally, I have no idea where you got that Obama/gays/lesbians stuff from, when did Obama ever say that he was "against gay right now?"

Also the mounties bit. Well you see, you don't need body armour and bulletproof cars when you are in a sane country with halfway decent laws and a acceptable crime rate.

did we still have mounties ? i never saw any horse mounted cop pulling me over for a speed tickets ! ;)

and also, i know that the same exact day he did the show, we happened to lost another 3 soldiers in afghanistan. Since it was more than a hundred death (and since we didnt get into vietnam, i guess it make afghanistan the most deadly conflit we had since WW2). Maybe that if he did those jokes a week earlier or a week or two later, nobody would have raise an eyebrowse...

We still have mounties but they function primarily in the northern parts of the country. Since towns up there, even in northern ontario (north of Sault Ste. Marie), are generally about a few hundred people strong they simply don't have their own local law enforcement officers and the mounties serve as that for them.

They still hold jurisdiction in ALL parts of the country. I always thought they should ride moose instead of horses since those big antlers could mess someone up.

It shouldn't surprise me, but it's still infuriating! It's assholes like him that make m ashamed to be an american. We are NOT the most powerful nation, we're the nation who is the most willing to pick on third world countries. And it's none of their business if canada takes a break, even if it they didn't have a legitimate excuse, and no one would invade canada ANYWAY becuase they have nothing terribly valuable, and they don't screw with everyone else.

http://lesbianlife.about.com/od/lesbianactivism/p/BarackObama.htm Now you may see it says he only against gay marriage but the other issues don't really matter because their right gays have or would get thou marriage.

don't you guys have a provincial police in ontario ? Here when a village is not big enough to have their own police, the provincial police cover the territory, but they are not related to the mounties in any way...
