OT: Anybody who's become famous for doing nothing. I don't mean actors or actresses, I mean socialites and internet celebrities and the like. The way that people drool all over them and reward meaningless crap with slavish adulation bugs the hell out of me. Perez Hilton is the prime embodiment of everything I despise in that sort of culture.

I think the bigger question is who DOES deserve the fame they have. It'd probably be a much shorter list, like maybe 5 people.

5 people? Really? I can think of a lot more people then that off the top of my head who do deserve their fame.

I don't know. I feel like most of the people who are deserving of their fame we could all agree on.

I mean, are there actually people out there who think that Bruce Campbell, Ron Perlman, and say, Orson Welles, don't deserve any recognition?

Is there anyone who thinks Orson Welles is poorly known?

That's not at all what I was trying to say. In this day and age, it's painfully easy to gain any kind of fame or notoriety, so a truly comprehensive list of everyone who doesn't deserve to be recognized would grow to a ridiculous length. So it would likely be simpler to make a list of those DO deserve the fame they have.


Granted, no, Perlman and Campbell are not as well known as Welles, but they work to the best of their abilities, and I always find them entertaining, so I believe that they should have a spot among the deserving.
