I need three As out of the four A levels I'm doing to get into Bristol and AB to get into Manchester. The anticipation is completely destroying my mind, to the extent that I literally couldn't sleep at all last night and I'm not the type of guy who does all-nighters.

I'm predicted to get the grades for Bristol, I'm just going through pre-results paranoia.

I need to get an A* and two As in Maths, more Maths, and Physics (mostly maths). Not that I'm especially worried. The A* I've already got the grades for, and the As I should have more than beaten.
I know a friend of mine who's in a similar position. He needs an A* in Maths and three As in his other subjects to get where he wants to go. Also like you he already has the A*, so that at least is a load off his back.

I'd be very surprised if he didn't get in, given how much he's worked for this.

Simple question, share your stories of fear, hope and expectation.

Myself, I've only got ASes to wait for - but as I'm going for Oxford, I need to get 90%
I feel your pain - English Lit, History, Latin and Music, hoping for all 90+ but I'm just plain worried now...

I assume you're applying for Classics - any idea what college?
You guess correctly, I've been looking at a couple, think my first choice might be Exeter. I can't guess what you're studying from your subjects I'm afraid, what and where?
Music at Hertford. Exeter's nice, I stayed there one time when I visited. The room I got was tiny, though, but it had a view over the Sheldonian. Don't know about you, but I'm having interview nightmares already...

So, phunny story. I have this mate who was retaking a ton of exams. He had 10 or 11 to do in july out of, essentially, two subjects. So around exam season, we had given up on WoW because we had some sense of self-preservation, but were looking for something else to play, because we apparently missed the point. So I introduced him to League of Legends and we spent the whole day playing it. Around 3 am I told him I needed to sleep, because I find it irritating waking up at 1 pm and being torn between having a lie in or going through the embarrassment of making breakfast at 3. He tried to get me to play a few more games (something which had kept me up since around 12) but this time I was like fuck it. He then tells me he has, THE NEXT MORNING, a maths exam RETAKE. On top of this, I had to convince him to even sleep then and not continue playing LoL. At 3 am.

Afterwards he claimed that he aced the exam, 80% minimum. I'll be holding him to it.

Around halfway through the exam season he realised he had buggered up everything else and would probably be retaking the year.

I did Art; English Literature; Media Studies and ICT. They fit perfectly together but it's an ungodly amount of coursework and because of art, ideally one has no time to oneself unless said person is a notorious procrastinator *cough*.
With the subjects I chose I ended up with just 200 words of coursework to do outside of school. I'd have had a ton more if I had done the second year of Computing or Chemistry, or taken one of those extended project things.

I got off lucky.

I think the transition to Uni may kill me.

Every time someone says that I feel kinda guilty I didn't put more work in. The only thing I revised heavily for July was Physics.

Waiting for AS biology, chemistry, physics and English language, plus A2 maths. i want to do vet med, so 3 of those need to be As. I am going to flop English, ace biology, get an ok A in chemistry... but I am worried about maths and physics, since those tend to be borderline A/B for me.

but I am not too worried, I took AS business studies in year 11 and got an A, so worst comes to worst and I take that up again, and can apply with that A

Got three people at my school looking to do Music, how bad is the competition for places?
Can't say I'm looking forward to them...should I get the chance xD

That reminds me (cause AS business studies was one of the papers with an impossible question on) did anyone experience proof-reading failure on their papers? I got lucky, but I heard the GCSE Latinists were a bit put out and confused - questions worth 14 marks (out of 50) were misprinted, though fortunately answerable...

For an Oxford course, music isn't that bad - usually about 200 applicants for 60 odd places, I think it's 2nd behind Classics percentage-wise. Still, that's very little comfort...

A* in Maths, A in Physics, A in Computing, B in Music Technology and an A in AS Further Maths.

More than enough to get me into Bristol, which I'm very happy about.

Did worse than I expected in every exam but 2... And got two A*s and an A :p

Missed the A* physics one by 2 marks. I know it doesn't matter but... 2 marks! 2! I was 15 over for Further Maths! Hell, my average for all physics would be just enough for the A*. Bloody practical...

Got into UCL, so yeah, I'm happy :p

Found out I won't be able to open my windows properly, won't be allowed a kettle or minifridge in my room, can put a poster on my door or a large one on my wall (which is a shame, because I have 5 feet of this on my wall right now http://www.venue.nu/infusions/photodb/pictures/Fantasy%20Art/Fantasy%20Art%2011/The%20Army%20of%20Eternity.jpg ), I don't know if I'll be able to connect my Xbox, and am feeling very suspicious about the claimed "essentially uncontrolled" access with "some control on outbound access in that
certain specific destination ?ports? are blocked"

Still, at least I got a single room.

Got A for Art, C for History of Art and D for Physics. Lower than I expected but still enough to get into Falmouth uni to study Film. Which is what I wanted to do. Although I probably should have worked a little harder. But who cares, SCHOOL IS OVER!!!
