Worst I got is red colorblindness. For those who don't know, I can't distinguish between different colors of red.

Oh, and everyone in my family is prone to diabetes, but I don't have it.
But your avatar is orange and red?
I don't mean to be rude, I just find that interesting.

I have a condition that makes my left eye able to perceive a far greater range in colour/tone, owing to another set of receptors on the retina.

I also helps me notice differences in colour far, far better than regular people, especially when I close my right eye.

Helps with the job of being a photographer and graphic designer!

The worst I've got is OCD and I've learned to control it when it gets to more serious situations like runnging down a flight of stairs just to check a light switch that I already know is all the way down.

Besides that I'm in line to get parkinsens.

Ive got more rod cells and less cone cells in my Eyes than usual. Means: less colours, but better sight at night.

I have a semi-severe case of Tourette's. Not to the point where I shout uncontrollably, but it still sucks because there are a lot of things that I do that I wish I could stop.

I randomly develop drool and keyboard shapes on my cheeks while working at a computer.
I love Dilbert, I'm a in good health for now, but I like many people seem to have crappy genetics.

I have a mild case of eczema however it's pretty much limited to my right hand. It was way worse when I was younger, I pretty much had to bathe in various kinds of salves.

If it's serious and hereditary, make sure you do not have children. Adoption is a very good alternative.

To get the ball rolling, I have [url:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xeroderma_pigmentosum] xeroderma pigmentosum[/url]. I never leave the house without sunscreen less than SPF 100. I burn waiting for the bus, I work the night shift. If I'm out in the sun for more than 20 minutes, I blister and my skin starts to melt off. not pretty. I am pretty lucky though, no scales, it's not an extreme case, I can still get some sun and live, I have pigment in my hair, but not my eyes.

so, that's my fun story, anyone else out there with oddities?
Macabre, curious maniac that I am...I had to google-Image that condition...I bet you're glad it's not an extreme case, huh? What does a lack of pigment do to your eyes, btw, I have no idea we even had/needed it there

OT: Nothing rare. Need glasses, so did my Dad and Grandad...s'bout it
well, I'm 20 now, so I'm not too worried about the life expectancy thing right now. as for the pigment, if you don't have any in your eyes, you're legally blind (usually extremely shortsighted) I have just enough to see at 18/20, which is good enough to get my marksman and sniper qualifications (they made my own course for night ops, since they are usually in the day near noon). The more sunlight I get in my eye's though, the more my pigment erodes. I will eventually go blind. Then I can be that epic blind martial artist guy that everyone fears

So the blindness is pretty much inevitable? That's a damn shame, friend.

Also, I know it's a debilitating disorder and all, but in terms of a movie/book character, the idea of a Night Ops uber-sniper in the army who has no pigment and can only do night missions but is really, REALLY good is just plain awesome.

I mean, sure, you could probably "hollywood-ify" the condition and just make him really, really pale and have...I dunno...something cool-looking like completley white eyes.

Could make for a real badass character that everyone remembers

I have a problem with my my blood missing the chemicals that make people immune to sunlight and things like that. If I saty in the sun during a hot day for a little bit, I start to get really sick, and have different reactions. It'll even happen if I'm around heat lamps, and stuff like that.

I'm not albino or anything though, just so that's clear.

Actually, yeah. It all just kind of blends together on the top and bottom, and most of the surroundings of the yellow part. But it's a fairly unique icon that I've been using for years, so I'm not changing it.

I do not know of anything, hopefully it will not be something that turns up later in life like a high chance of developing cancer or something.

That sounds harsh man. Do intense artificial lights bother you or is it mostly just the sunlight?
According to wikipedia it's exposure to UV radiation, and I don't think there is an awful lot (if any) in artificial lighting. Whilst you can get lighting strips specifically designed to mimic sunlight (I have one in my tortoise's enclosure as they need UVB to produce a vitamin), I wouldn't expect to find them in domestic lighting. They expensive, too :p

EDIT: damnit missed the OP post!

Please do your research next time before saying something. It's obvious you didn't because restless leg syndrome is a real condition, passed genetically through families (I for instance got it from my mother). I'm not saying it's serious, in most cases it's not. But it has nothing to do with "people getting bored if they sit for too long." My restless leg can go off regardless of whether I'm bored or fascinated. Many people who have restless leg syndrome have an extremely hard time going to sleep, because their legs will not stop moving. When it starts going, it's impulsive, often I won't even notice it until someone points it out, and if I try to stop it it feels like I'm fighting with my own body. So, please, next time just stop for a second and ask yourself if what you're about to say is based on some sort of facts. Then, if it's not based on facts in any way, shape, or form, just don't say it. Hell, all you had to do was Google it. Or, I could do that for you, here's a link to a facts sheet from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/restless_legs/detail_restless_legs.htm
Ok i'm sorry, it's just that I sometimes do it for no real reason when i'm sat waiting for something so i've just always assumed it wasn't really a disorder.
