But if I really had to pick only ONE, then I'd say Yuri from Shadow Hearts. I absolutely adore him.
Some close ones would be Caim from Drakengard, Raiden from MGS, Nero from DMC4, and Steve from RE. Zephyr from Resonance of Fate is slowly working his way up there too.
(What? I said I had more than one.)
You have my full support on that.
I'm a metal gear Die hard fan and i love solid Snake and his brothers.
#3 was a bit different as you did play big boss but it was so freaken awesome. Rather the bosses in that game were intense, Specially the end and his sniping! XD

Another character I find a lot of leisure would be possibly Ansem from the kingdom hearts series. i know this is like petty crime listing it but he was alright
Well story-wise Planescape Torment is the best RPG that has been created to this day.
If you can find the original buy it without a second thought. I have the 4-CD version, but a 2-CD version was released as well. The 2-CD version is exactly the same game - just better compressed.
If you like RPG games I'm sure you'll LOVE Planescape. You can always google it for reviews, guides, patches, and mods. IMO You'll need a few patches and a LOT of luck to play on a modern PC (Vista, Win7) but it sure is worth the trouble...
You are very welcome.
Just keep in mind that Planescape Torment is NOT a game that focuses on combat. If you like games like Diablo then you might be disappointed by PT. There is a LOT of dialogue/text in the game and you HAVE to read it! Excluding all the critters that inhabit the Planes and will attack you on sight (that are not that many compared to other RPG games of the time), you can pretty much avoid all major confrontations through dialogue. The good thing is that this does not affect the level-up process, since you are still awarded a lot of XP - the bad thing is that you don't get to enjoy a good massacre (especially later in the game). So if you want to just hack&slash through the game do not appoint many points on Intelligence, if on the other hand you want to have the opportunity to meet more characters, recover more memories, and get more dialogue options, focus on Intelligence and Wisdom. The spells are kick-ass as well. One last thing regarding combat : There aren't really any ranged weapons like crossbows or bows you can use (only spells). But there is a character that has a pretty strong ranged attack.
If I was asked to describe the game with two words I would say it is UNIQUE and CAPTIVATING.
I think this statement made by Samuel Brown Baker II (a dude that wrote a very nice walkthrough) sums up the game pretty nicely :
And to the people at Interplay and Black Isle, I salute you. I have never felt such emotion and involvement with the characters and plot of a game. I will freely admit that I shed tears at the end for
devotion and the tragedy of the
. Torment is the finest computer role-playing game I have ever played. Thank you for creating a game I could still love after a hundred thousand-
plus words and I don't know how many hours.
Max Payne: it pretty much goes without saying. The poor bastard had his life torn apart and his new love killed, noir style.
Gordon Freeman: Because my Gordon is a poor confused sap that does everything on a whim, He is over confident at times, and a coward at other times. He is extremely annoyed at all the crap that happens to him and feels kind of bad for killing so many guys.
In other words, he's the guy I would be if I got thrown into the same circumstances. I maintain that Half-Life 1 & 2 are amongst the best role playing games ever. Whoever says Gordon is boring because he never speaks has no poetry in his soule. You make Gordons lines.

A wonderful woman which words cannot describe -- oooh video game wise, haha.
OT: I'm torn between Daigo Dojima (Yakuza Series), Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell), Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid), and Desmond Miles (Assassin's Creed series).
Female wise, which makes more sense, I would bone Sniper Wolf (Metal Gear Solid) three ways to the apocalypse. Too bad she had to die. :/
Edit: How did I not include Samus Aran (Metroid)?! The hell is wrong with me. I would also, robotically, give my heart to Forte (aka Bass; Mega Man series). I love all those characters...now give me a bad ass Mega Man game STARRING (not side-kicking) Forte and the world is loving and just.
