The only people I tend to admire/idolize/etc. are either dead or not even real. Is that sad or what?

But to stay on topic, the two people I seem to idolize/listen to/follow the most are Kurt Cobain and Joanna Dark.

Kurt Cobain because he was such an interesting, kind and gentle person who pretty much did what he liked/wanted and became hugely successful because of it. And it saddens me that I was only alive for a few years before he died.

Joanna Dark because she's pretty much everything I wish I could be. Witty, smart, beautiful, in great shape and a whole mess of other things I wish I could be/do. I think part of the reason why I've grew to idolize her is because of the lack of good real female roll models out there. So in the end, I guess it's no surprise that I based a book character after her.

I have total respect for Lance Armstrong and Eddy Merckx (that's the man himself I have as my avatar.) Being a cyclist I see them as something I'd like to become.

There are few friends who are worth listening to, when they talk about their area of expertize: One knows A LOT about tabletop RPGs, another about weird philosophy, and so forth. The Escapist community also has few members, whose words of wisdom/wit I usually heed, like for example:

Tower of insight, this one.

Seriously though, thanks. I appreciate your sentiment. Here, have some Ray Charles

Well, theres Michael Atkinson, Jack Thomson, FOX news, The Herald, Religous fanatics, Talk show hosts. They pretty much decide what I think.

My brother, my closest friend and John 5. My brother because he always helps me out and is extremely bright, and I generally look up to him (also, we like to spend our weekends gaming). My closest friend because she's the nicest person I know and I get along with her in more ways than anyone else. And John 5 because he's influenced me so much as a musician and his career is just astounding. I love all of these people (not "love" love, but you get the picture) and they make my life so much better.

Sheesh, thank you. I'll be more generous with some Bee Gees.

Unless you prefer the John Frusciante version

George Carlin.
He always said what needed to be said without any fear of repercussions.

I miss him. :(

My best friend. Ziggy. He always says the most awesome and true things. He's pretty funny too, and also the smartest person I know.He once told me this:

"Everyone on earth is a masochist because they don't torture themselves. A masochist is someone who enjoys torturing themselves, so the greatest torture would be to not torture themselves, and since people enjoy not torturing themselves, they are all masochist."

He was, of course, joking. It's still awesome though.
