Y'know, I do have a list, but one is on the top: Vector the Crocodile.
Now, I didn't mind him in Knuckles Chaotix. That was a fun and challenging game. And even when he came back unexpectedly in Sonic Heroes, I still didn't mind him.
Then Shadow the Hedgehog reared it's ugly head.
Now, I originally didn't think he was that annoying, repeating the same crap every character does, just randomly mouthing off what you have to be doing. But as the next level came, I noticed something was off. He was still repeating the same lines. Apparently, there was a problem in the game that makes it so Vector will ask you if you've found the computer room, or to find the computer room, even if that isn't your mission. And when I'm fighting a boss and Vector shouted "Find the Computer Room!" for the tenth time for that boss, it began to reach a new level of annoyance.
Congratulations Sonic Team! In a single game, you managed to create a character even more annoying than Tails' voice in English for all of the Sonic games.

Can't remember her name but the Horned devil character from Neverwinter Nights 2, You cant talk to anyone without her getting annoyed and then she insults you for that even though its part of the damn quest
Those cocky Mercs/Bounty hunters in Fallout 3. Was most satisfying to come out of a tunnel, encounter them, then watch them suddenly get mowed down by super mutants.
Either that or assault class guys in Killzone 2.

Oh yeah I should also add the Blitz from Devil May Cry 4. The Blitz is not a boss, but just a regular enemy that you have to kill. And let me tell you those fuckers are annoying as hell. They teleport all over the fuckin place non stop and come out of no where and unleash some bullshit attack that you cant dodge. And let's not forget the bullshit lightning beam that when you get hit by it you're pretty much done. You can't hit them with your sword you literally have to shot the ever living shit outta of them until their shield goes down then you have like 10 seconds to beat the shit out of them. Then repeat.

Did you finish that game? He's actually one of the wiser Marines, and he makes positive comments and even a few funny quips as well. The stigma of the loner was intended for this character, so I suppose it's possible some people can't relate to him. But still, he's more entertaining than Thaddeus, who comes off as childish, and Avitus, whom I found outright annoying.KING BOB 2896 said:

I'm determined to finish it, if only to see if it can rise to the level of actually being vaguely interesting to play (doubt it). The most irritating thing is that from what I've seen so far, the basic story looks as though it might be genuinely interesting. The trouble is, I have to actually play the game in order to get to see any of it.
The lesson to take out of this is: if you have predetermined events, don't have the characters in your game act in an incredibly unbelievably stupid manner time and time again to facilitate them, and especially don't have the hero do it!
Other irritating characters? - the main villain in Bioshock. After Andrew Ryan, this person is a total let-down. Tails in Sonic 2, who was so bad that in Sonic 3 they gave you the option of playing the game without him. Navi and Slippy, obviously, but every other person on this forum has already named one or the other. And Half Life 2's freedom fighters, who do nothing but get in the way or get killed, but again they've already been named by enough people. (Don't agree about Alyx Vance though - I think she's great, probably the best support character I've seen in a game.)

You mean Tidus? He aggravated me more than even Squall, and Squall made me stop playing the game! The only good thing about him was that you never had to use him past the first 2 or 3 areas. And Haste.Erana said:
So Tidus (FFX) gets my vote, with honourable mentions to Squall (FFVIII), Navi (like anyone needs me to say which game), Tails (Sonic 2), and 'The Fuzz' (Road Rash). Navi's pretty obvious, as is Tails, but does anyone remember the fuzz? They're the cops camped out to bust your first-time motorcycle racing ass, despite letting your opponents, 95% of whom are *real* criminals, drive right on by. And they never look away. And they're always faster than you.
