Friend asked me this morning I couldn't find a better answer. Please follow the below rules so we can't have Dark Phoenix...

Who is the most powerful super-Hero?
Has to be a hero.
Has to be in the standard cannon (no zombie Galactus).

I couldn't find anything better than Superman during the Silver Age who able to move faster than the speed of light and move planets. I know he's vulnerable to magic (but there are no magic users I know that could react faster than Superman moving at +light speed). Kryptonite again but there's the challenge of actually using.

EDIT: Disallowing Dr Manhattan on the basis he's not a hero, in any shape or form, for the vast majority of the book. He's a superhero for a few years, then goes into seclusion for the army, then leaves for Mars... He doesn't actually intervene in any particular way in the story.

Dr Manhattan, but only if he saw himself win in the future. Does he work with your rules?

Maybe but its kind of hard to scale him against other heroes as he's not fought super-powered foe. His time vision thing doesn't seem to be well used except for causing angst!

Theoretically, it would be Prof. Xavier. If there was an uncoming fight between him and Superman, he could just take control of Superman's mind. This is all based on the fact that Prof. Xavier KNOWS that Superman is coming ahead of time.

Usefully the Kryptonian is well trained in a mental discipline that protects him for mind control. I know I read that somewhere I just can't source. Damn.

There is a moment in Smallville of all places where he can't have his mind read.

I would say Onslaught or X-Man.
Both extremely powerful psychics and Onslaught is invulnerable inside his armor. X-man is ridiculously powerful and could hold down Superman with his mind and tear him apart.

The thing about superman is that he has all the best powers, but is retarded. For example in superman 3, at the end he flies into the dooms day cave and nearly meets his doom, if he wasn't retarded he would have sniped them with his laser eyes though the sides of the cave

John Osterman.

He can do anything Superman can do, but he can also be in more than one place at once, doin everything Superman can do. Not to mention he can create (or erase) life with barely a thought.

I'm going to go with Dr. Manhattan, the whole bending space and time to his will and all.

Not a hero. Read the rules. Also Silver Age supes can fly faster than light (hence couldn't be seen) and could just throw him into orbit. The Krypotnian also has some psionic resitance.

Again, not a hero. No concept of morality in a human reference point.

The answer is green lantern. With that ring, he can do pretty much goddamned anything. Like make kryptonite to kill supes. But, as for who's the best, the answer to that is batman. Green lantern is the most powerful, batman is the the coolest.

Squirrel Girl is the most powerful and I'm afraid no-one even comes close

Even deadpool considers her to be one of his most powerful opponents

Captain Atom pulled this on Superman and it didn't work. The problem is Kryptonite doesn't make Superman a cripple, it just weakens him.

There are a number of incidences of the Green Corps not being able to deal with a Superman, most notably Infinite Crisis where hundreds of them cannot contain a rampaging Superboy.

Batman. Sure he has no superpowers but it is said that he has Kryponite on him at all times in the case he would have to fight a kryptonian. (After all the crossovers it seems like a good chance.)

Depends on the amount. A small amount will weaken him but a decent sized chunk can be fatal.
