This wins and is true. It's near impossible to beat Thanos and Deadpool.

The answer is green lantern. With that ring, he can do pretty much goddamned anything. Like make kryptonite to kill supes. But, as for who's the best, the answer to that is batman. Green lantern is the most powerful, batman is the the coolest.
Captain Atom pulled this on Superman and it didn't work. The problem is Kryptonite doesn't make Superman a cripple, it just weakens him.

There are a number of incidences of the Green Corps not being able to deal with a Superman, most notably Infinite Crisis where hundreds of them cannot contain a rampaging Superboy.
Yeah, i suppose you are right though. Silver age supes was re written for this exact reason. There simply WASN'T anybody more powerful, thankfully they nerfed him.

Me!

More seriously though superman is most likely winner just because of his many useful abilities. Sure he has a weakness but who doesn't? Waiting for a good suggestion of someone else to start thinking otherwise.

Agreed, Goku is the clear winner. Superman wishes.
The big problem with that, is that goku is an idiot. He wouldn't bother to think that to beat superman he would have to use kryptonite. He'd get confused as to why he couldn't just beat superman into oblivion, and would just keep trying to do so. Eventually he would tire, but superman would not, and after fighting at an incredible level for an extended period of time, goku's power would run out, and then he'd get his ass beat. Superman wins that too.

Depends on the amount. A small amount will weaken him but a decent sized chunk can be fatal.
Based on ... that time Superman died???

Hiro from Heroes could stop time, find kryptonite, go back in time with said kryptonite and murder superman with it while he was an infant.

I always wonder about people who argue about who would win in a fight between Superman and whomever. Superman has only one weakness (I'm sure you know what it is), and to quote the great Doctor E. Brown, "it's a little hard to come by." Superman may be "more powerful than a locomotive", but his "powers" aren't limited to physical strength. My vote for the most powerful superhero is *drum-roll* The Hulk! *Audience gasps*

EVIL, EVIL MAN!
Heh.
I loved that issue of civil war.
And I'll say Superman Prime.
After he emerged from the middle of the sun after one million years, he was not only incredibly powerful, but he also had the last Green Lantern ring shot into the sun by Solaris, who thought it was kryptonite.
This was in JLA 1,000,000

Also, he has two weaknesses. The other is magic.

It is obviously Alex Mercer. He is the strongest one without being invincible, And invincible hero's don't count.

Superman is probably the best, but It's just so cheap. I could make a hero named Ultraman who could fly at twice the speed of light and move planets with his little toe, but would that really be that cool?

More like he's ridiculously overpowered.

Maybe its just me, but Superman pisses me off to no end because of what he can do; which is everything bar things involving Kryptonite.
Yupp.

So here we have a super hero that can do absolutely everything and take absolutely anything, just except for ONE thing, and that ONE thing all the villains just happen to have.

I don't know why, but I've never really liked Superman, most likely because he was so overpowered. However, Batman is awesome, not the most powerful of course, but he's the most awesome. Also, there was this (non-canon) time where Batman killed Superman.

Actually no, it's already been proven via comics that Superman CAN be beaten to death. Literally. Death of Superman folks. Superman and Doomsday literally beat each other to death. It doesn't take kryptonite. Just someone really really strong and really really tough. IE. Goku.
Superman didn't actually die and was back in a relatively short space of time. He was badly beaten though and yes Superman could theoretically just be pummelled to death by a bigger bad guy (Darkseid). Also I think Doomsday had shards of Krypton in him didn't he? He was definitely from Krypton.

*Cough* When? I may be missing one.

Red Son: Batman overpowers Superman using red sun lamps. Is beaten by Wonder Woman.
The Dark Knight Returns: Batman lays the smack down on him using a variety of tricks including kryptonite, then 'dies' of a heart attack.
Hush: Batman uses every trick in the book to not die for about 3 minutes.

Hmm... I could be wrong then, as far as I remember it was The Dark Knight Returns, but I haven't read that one for a while, in fact the only thing I remember was something about a Kryptonite ring or something. But you seem to know more about it than me so I'll let you win this one... For now...
