I have to agree with you on that. Batman is able to beat beings who have superpowers without having any of his own. Read under the hood part one and you batman single handedly kill amazo!

Aquaman. It's all when you think about it more though and you realize all the power he really does have from d how tough he really has to be to survive living in the ocean and he can control anything from the ocean, if you believe in evolution...ALMOST EVERYTHING CAME FROM THE OCEAN! Basically Aquaman could be everyone's overlord if he wanted to do it. {And if everyone could stop thinking of him as a joke hero}.

Squirrel Girl's dang powerful too though...

Superman.. you just can't ever bring the guy down. Even in his weakest of moments, he counters it somehow and becomes very OP. However, Superman is the most powerful/incredible superhero, I would say that Batman was the Best superhero of all time. Just a human with gadgets, and yet he's done more good then I could recall anyone else doing (I could be wrong, but you got to be impressed with Batman).
When it comes to regular guys with gadgets. I'd wager Iron Man and War Machine would both have the edge over Batman. Think about it, full body suit of near impenetrable armor, can fly at jet engine speeds, both have homing missiles in their armor, Iron Man has lasers in his hands and War Machine has a fucking shoulder mounted minigun. I'm probably forgetting some stuff too. Nothing Batman has in his arsenal could get past their armor, They can both kill him at long and close range, and even if he tries to get away in the Batmobile they could both just intercept it and blow it up.

Yeah, the blue guy from Watchmen is getting a lot of votes - for good reason (he could easily overpower superman for example).

There is also the cheat option: (insert marvel character) wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Endless are powerful but are also massively restricted by their roles (except Destruction I guess).

Shiki Ryougi.

Her explicit power is 'Kill the fuck out of everything'.

She regularly 'kills' reality. Just because. She can also 'kill' poison, the universe, AND TIME ITSELF. For some reason.

Why the FUCK has nobody said Squirrel Girl yet?

Seriously, I'm not kidding. She's more powerful than every Marvel superhero combined.
It's true. Didn't she beat the crap out of Dr. Doom with like, little to no effort? I'm fairly certain that's a feat the entire Fantastic Four can't pull off without some serious effort and some luck.

Son Goku.. though technically not from Western Comics. Superman's punches would tickle him.

Turns out Sentry could barely even damage The Hulk in Planet Hulk... so ya, a lot of these guesses that put him very high up are disputable... and the hulk also can't really die, he just regens and keeps getting stronger and stronger. In most comics he defeats himself (regains control) before anyone in the Marvel Universe can do anything to him. If Tony Stark couldn't think of a way to permanently defeat him, I am not sure that Batman (a very similar character) would have the chance.

Not entirely sure, but I do remember hearing that Thano's became the ultimate of all ultimate at one time.

Above him (if you count the mushy stuff) is One Above All, "who's only weapon is love." And according to Hewey Lewis and the News, that stuff will eff you up.

And after this, the Beyonder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyonder)

For more normal characters, you have had The Sentry, Ghost Rider, Sorcerer Supreme (whichever one), Captain Universe... all of whom are intensely powerful, but usually have a reason NOT to use those powers. Mephisto is probably more powerful than that, as he can rewrite time.

So... in the Marel Universe, it goes something like this:

One Above All
Death
Beyonder
Mephisto
Sorcerer Supreme
The Sentry
--various Gods--
Ghost Rider
and then probably Galactus or Thanos...
I think you're neglecting and mixing up quite a bit there.

Galactus is more powerful than any of the gods. He's a lot more powerful the the sorcerer supreme. I'm not really sure about the the beyonder. But all of the Celestials are pretty much the next step down from the one above. And didn't Thano's go through a story arc in which he became indisputable the most overpowered being in existence?

I also would hesitate in saying Mephisto is stonger than Galactus. If memory serves he didn't quite manage to defeat him, even after bringing him into his own realm.

And I don't think the ghost riders penance stare can canonically do Galactus in.

God..... that all sounded so nerdy.
I don't know about regular continuity Galactus, but ultimate Galactus sucked ass and was terrible at everything.

Technically, I'd say the green lantern because his powers are only limited by his (the writers) imagination. Or Superman for the sheer amount of statistical prowess. But plot armor is the rule of the day, so Batman or Squirrel Girl would win any fight they participated in.

As far as I would personally want to see them ranked;
(no gods or villains)
Sue Storm
The Flash
Sentry
The Hulk
Superman
Green Lantern
Batman
Any Flying Brick (Lame character choice, BTW)
Wolverine
Deadpool
Squirrel Girl (Still ranked very high, mind you)

The Incredible Hulk. Hands down as a full on powerhouse I reckon is the strongest, considering his strength is practically limitless.

The stare did work in the FF cartoon. But that wasn't in the comics, so I call discontinuity.

Doctor Manhattan would kill everything. He IS indestructible and he makes things die by pointing at them, He could probably kill Galactus with ease just by changing him into snow or something like that.
