i'm not the only one for which "pretty" and "hot", mean different (though certainly not exclusive) things?

anyway, I'm confident I have a definite answer for this, I just can't remember who it was

one random thing I have noticed though is, every time I see someone in a show or movie who I like enough to Google for... er... "research"... there was this uncanny thing where surprisingly often they would be born in '86

a few examples:

Lindsay Lohan (before she went crazy)
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (when I/they were younger)
Amanda Byndes
Meghan Fox (this would be an example of 'hot' != 'pretty')
Brittany Snow (pretty++!!!)

this is not an exhaustive list!

all in all, not a bad year!

I suppose its not that surprising I'd be attracted to people born near me ('87). still...

oh, and as I was trawling through IMDB's database of ppl born in '86 to try and jog my memory, who should I find!

My point is saying a generic term like wife or girlfriend is pointless without some pictures to back it up. The only reason to say it is because you want to make yourself feel good and look like a caring husband in the eyes of random people on the internet. It really adds nothing to the topic, and leaves nothing open to discussion.

I'm willing to concede that you're mostly right here. It probably IS pointless for this thread given how almost everyone is going to respond. It also probably doesn't add anything to the topic and there's little room for discussion with it. In fact, I probably wouldn't have said anything at all had I stopped to think about how it would be taken. But that's where I err. It's common.

But I remain adamant that I would never say anything like that just to make myself feel good and look like a champ online. I mean every word I say.

But I feel like we're treading into semantics and well past world view. My family colors my world, and as such it's the first response most times. It's not for the sake of "ddaaaaaawwwws" online, it's just who I am in my older years.

Also, my last post to you was perhaps a little meaner than I had intended. You're right for the most part, people do do exactly what you're suggesting.

Don't worry about it. I've never had anything even close to resembling a girlfriend, so it doesn't really phaze me when people point out that fact. I used to have girls ask me out as a joke in high school and then laugh at me when I said yes, does that count?
