the Last Handmaiden aka Brianna.

My fondness for this character was supported by the fact that the voice actress also did Catwoman in Arkham city and also Yanga from Escape from Monkey Island.
Bioware had nothing to do with KotOR 2. The game was made by Obsidian.
Well they may not have developed it but from what I understand they took counsel from Bioware. They did use their engine and their setting after all.

Deekin Scalesinger!

Let me explain:

I love the two expansion packs to Neverwinter Nights. They absolutely nail the pulp fantasy atmosphere of D&D, and the story and writing is just so much better than the original game. I love them so much, I play through them every couple of years or so.

Of all the companions, the only one that can follow you through both packs is Deekin. He's a kobold who wants to be a bard and an adventurer, a weak creature that wants to be strong, a servant who wants to be free of his master, a yipping little reptile who dreams of being a dragon. He follows you all the way to hell and back; of all your companions, he is the only one who will not betray you even if you don't know his True Name. He becomes as useful as any other companion.

Plus, he's funny and cute and sings a doom song. "Doom doom doom, doom doom doom..."

I love Deekin.

Aveline - I doubt many others will pick her, but I loved Aveline. She was always the voice of reason. Yes, she was the captain of the guard, the representative of lawfulness and loyalty, but still she ran with my Hawke, a rogue, and two apostates, Merill and Anders. Instead of constantly making offensive comments like Fenris, she saw her comrades good intentions and abided by them. Not that she was spineless, either. At times she'd put her foot down and I understood her place. Getting Aveline her promotion and helping her with her romance was incredibly fun and I truly felt like I had built a friendship by the end of it.
...you know...I can't help but agree, though more in that I found her the most BALANCED and REALISTIC character Bioware has created.
I could understand her, could relate to her, even know her stance on something before she said it, and that despite her not having any extreme opinions about anything, which makes her a very well-written character.
The fact that she even developed a friendship with Isabella was...nice to see. :)

It would have to be Merill (Or whatever she was called) from DA2. (Yeah, yeah I know. I hated it as a sequel, so I called it Kirkwall Advertures and was able to enjoy it) She was actually stupid about something. She didn't have daddy issues that, er, Shepards "daddy" would fix, she was fairly reserved, she didn't have a rack that meant if she tried to move her spine would have compressed to a singularity and she was actually stupid about the whole mirror thing. I found myself yelling (in my brain, of course.) for her to just listen to the people more experienced who care about her to not do it. But she did. She made a realistic mistake, like, y'know, real people do. I hated the fact that I couldn't talk her out of it, since I'm Hawke, and the whole game sets you up to be the problem guy - But from a character perspective, she was great.

Though quite why her underwear when she stayed at your house looked like oblivion elven platemail, I'll never know. I would have rather had her wearing one of Hawkes massive "I'm with the champion" shirts. Or like, her clothes. It just made me think of an oblivion face on her.
She was adorable, caring...and yes, very stupid about the mirror, at times I couldn't help but wonder how much of it was her want to help her people and how much of it was the demon in the mirror...the fact that the demon of pride, which is the same type trapped in Sundermount, in Feynriel's dream that tricks her makes this behaviour more worriesome...
Indeed, one couldn't help but wringe one's hands as one again and again tried to dissuade her from this self-destructive path because one actually CARED for her...while doing this just made her push you away in fear of hurting you... *sighs*

...huh, I prefered Dragon age as a game, but it seems I prefered the characters in Dragon age 2...

What, nobody is going to say Kreia? She's probably my favorite video game character of all time! Probably because she's mostly an Obsidian character... Revan was also amazing, but mostly because of player input.

What do you mean by mostly Obsidian? Bioware did not write anything for KotOR 2.

I count Aveline as one of my preferred characters as well. Most of all when coupled with Isabela, who is my number one favourite.
Their rapport, grounded in a mutual skepticism ultimately producing a grudging yet intimate friendship is some of the finest writing I've ever encountered in a game.

I especially like how the terminology they initially use to condescend eachother ('slattern', 'man-virgin' etc.) ultimately become terms of endearment, subverting the otherwise volatile implications of those words.
Also, Isabela actually allows Aveline to relax into a new romantic relationship, nurturing her self esteem in the rudest fashion possible, which was both affectionate and good fun.
This article [http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/138484-the-sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pantsless-rogue-dragon-age-iis-isabe/] perfectly describes why Isabela is my favourite of the bunch.
Sheryl Chee did such a brilliant job. She's actually produced my favourite character in each of the Dragon Age games so far, from Leliana, through Sigrun to Isabela.

Minsc from Baldur's Gate saga or Garrus from Mass Effect series. I really can't decide which is better since they both have plenty in common. I guess i'm a sucker for strong paladin-like characters trying to make the world a little better place. ;)

I really liked the cast of Jade Empire (except Sagacious Zu) and the Varric with Funny Hawke combo of DAO2. Jolee Bindo was great in KOTOR. My all time favorite though would be the sex-obsessed Zevran. His party banter is hilarious.

Minsc. No, wait, Garrus. No, wait, Liara. No, wait Merill. No, wait, Viconia. No, wait Morrigan.
Morrigan. For the extreme snark, the great dialog with other party members, and voice actress.
Also : Side boob.

Alistair and Anders were really funny and had moving character arcs. I also liked Legion and Justice.

Tali. Never before was there a video game character to which I literally groaned about the lack of romance options (in ME1), such a sexy and cute voice. I just find her generally like-able. ME2 kept her charm, and then added some seriousness to the character which just made her better.

As silly as it is, she sort of pushes me to complete the Mass Effect series.
Essentially this. Garrus is second, I believe.
Nobody from Dragon Age really resonated with me, except possibly... Gods, I don't even remember the names. The golem, crushing the pigeons.
Shale!

[Edit: Oh God I forgot about Legion! How COULD I, I have his litho on my wall next to Tali's! Sorry Garrus, you're relegated to third!]

Revan, The Gray warden captain, the spawn of Bhaal and even Hawke. I Find my characters to be the most memorable.

Of the NPCs I would Say Minsc and Boo, and HK-47.

Minsc + Boo. Because Minsc and Boo are Minsc and Boo.

Also this:

"I grow tired of yelling battle cries when fighting this mage! Boo will finish your eyeballs once and for all so he does not rise again! EVIL, MEET MY SWORD! SWORD, MEET EVIL!!!!"

and almost anything else he says...........

Kreia is my favorite character in gaming period. But, she's not mostly an Obsidian character. She's totally an Obsidian character.
