Obi Wan only kicks Anakin's ass because ass because he isnt the strongest jedi yet.

Obi Wan would have so owned Darth Vader if that idiot Luke hadn't got in the way. Probably would have killed the Emperor to. In fact after Yoda I'd say that Obi Wan was the next powerful 'user of the force'

I'll add that most people who are voting for Windu here are only doing so because Jackson played him...not on actual ability

Movies Only - Darth Tyranus aka Count Dooku. The best acting job in Ep 2, backed up by some delicous ambiguity as to what he's really after (read Stover's novelization of Ep 3 to see what I mean).

Expanded Universe Geekery - A vote for Kyp Durron, amoral destroyer of worlds and one of the only Jedi in existence with the potential to ever match Grandmaster Skywalker. A pity he's recently recieved the royal brush-off in favor of 'Darth Maniac' and The Sword.

Yes, I prefer my Jedi/Sith precariously balanced between inner peace and personal corruption like normal people are. Anyone who's 100% good or 100% evil gets boring after a while, and not just in Star Wars.

Also I would have to go with Mara Jade, or Corran Horn. Horn is my favorite jedi, because I,Jedi is one of my favorite starwars books. and anyone who can hold his own in a saber fight with luke is awesome in my book.

I like Obi-wan and Qui-Gon. Real Jedis have beards!
Also, Obi-wan manages to be human without being a whiny emo *****.

Yoda's cool too, for a puppet. I like Katarn better as a mercenary, TBH. He's like a weird combination of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. Too many characters rolled into one.
Mace Windu is camp. I don't like him. He's not a jedi, he's just Samuel Jackson in Star Wars. Makes no bloody sense.

I think the downside of the whole force gig is that you have to die in the most weenie way possible.

PS I also must vote for the Emperor. He is so powerful, so genius, and so unbelievably evil and cold, you gotta love him. Ian McDiarmid; great actor, and totally cool evil voice and laugh.

Agreed. He may have been cut in half, but even that didn't kill him. 'Course, he did get his ass kicked again by the same guy however many years later, but still.

As for jedi, sign me up for Mace Windu. Sam Jackson or no, he's still one of the best swordsmen the jedi ever had. Hell, he only died by a cheap shot from Anakin after kicking Sidius' ass all over the place.
