I can't believe someone already stole mine!

The concept of a 'mancrush' is tricky. I'm not close to being gay, I'm not necessarily totally grossed out by the concept of sex with another man, but certainly I have never been even the tiniest bit physically attracted to a guy, no matter what they look like, from Brad Pitt to, uh, someone stereotypically ugly. And yet some men clearly have a charisma, or a magnetism, that is extremely compelling.

Here's an example, of sorts. I love dancing (watching, not doing... although actually I do enjoy doing it, so long as there isn't the tiniest chance of anyone seeing). So You Think You Can Dance is one of my favourite TV shows. And almost always, I find myself watching and enjoying the men more than the women. They just tend to have a physicality that I find more appealing. There's also the fact that women seldom dance in the styles I enjoy most, but even when you have a man and a woman dancing the same routine with the same level of skill, my eye is drawn more to the man.

And then there's someone like David Mitchell. If you know who he is, you know he's no dancer (I still remember the Big Fat Quiz of the Year when he and Charlie Brooker, who is another contender for my mancrush, steadfastly refused to dance). He's not even massively charismatic in any obvious way, but he is intelligent and hilarious and he says the things I wish I had the wit to come up with. I can't say I'm attracted to him in any way, but I would very much like to be friends with him. Does that count?

So, there you go. My mancrush is either David Mitchell, or perhaps one of the guys from the recent Australian series of SYTYCD.

Definitely Liam Neeson, the accent, his voice, his typecast machismo roles ... I dunno, he's awesome.

I quite like Robert Downey Jr too

EDIT: Oh, Chris Hemsworth and David Tennent (I liked him in Dr Who, then I loved him in Cassanova, then I loved him in Dr Who too)

Yeah, although I think you can have the kind of non-sexual crush on a member of your preferred sex too.

I for example have those kinds crushes (in fiction) on femme fatales and ruthless women, but since they are too scary I don't find them sexually attractive, not really?

As in, I can think they look hot, but I wouldn't like to have sex (or a relationship which tends to go hand-in-hand for me with sexual attraction) with them.

I have a two, Patrick Stewart and Crispin Freeman. It's their voices, they're voices are just sexy. Besides they both have a good sense of humor and I like that in people.

Ugh, who am I kidding, any sane human would choose BRIAN BLESSED... I mean, he's basically a macho santa with a peverted streak. The height of sex appeal.

I've disapointed myself today.
No...I share your love for Brian Blessed. He's in his, what 60s or 70s now? But Dear Lord Almighty, he is the manliest man to ever walk God's Green Earth, and more horny than Russell Brand and a field full of rabbits.

Hugh Jackman, hands down.

I'm about as straight as they come, but that is one seriously sexy furball of a man. Plus he sings and is utterly hilarious.

I'm surprised to see Patrick Stewart mentioned so many times, but I guess since I grew up watching him on Star Trek I just never thought of him beyond of how a little kid would.

Normally it's been between Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner and Christ Pratt. Damn you marvel and your hot male superheroes. I'll also put Ryan Gosling here because of movies like Drive and Only God Forgives. I find him hotter when he doesn't speak.

Woman crush I think would be Npitta Nyongo (spelling fail) and Zoe Saldana. Both are beautiful and amazing actresses.

I consider myself fairly at the very end of the Kinsey scale, but that said, if Christina Hendricks came up to me and pulled a Commander-Shepard-like "Hey, we'll bang later, ok?" I would be tearing my clothes off and actively stripping as I ran at top speed to her hotel room. You would be able to chart my trajectory by the torn-off tights and bra I left in my wake. I am not ashamed in the least.

Because let's be honest, it's CHRISTINA HENDRICKS.

And a bonus if we're considering fictional characters: Aura Blackquill of Ace Attorney fame actually made me set aside my 3DS for a couple of minutes in order for me to fan my face in 'oh no she's hot' panic before getting back to the game. (...and this I *am* slightly ashamed about, but at least I have good taste in Christina Hendricks.)
