A more feminine version of my own. Indeed, when I talk, my voice sounds to me very feminine, though apparently it isn't.
Now, if I could choose a narrator? Uhm... Leonard Nimoy, Sigourney Weaver or Winona Ryder. Actually, can I get all three? It'll be like a DVD commentary, in my head! Man, that would be fun.

Gordan Freeman. I'm sure he's got an awesome voice - so awesome that no-one can hear it an live! That's the real reason he's a so-called 'silent protagonist'...
actually, the whole point of having him silent is so that you become more immersed and eentually become Gordon Freeman, Gordon is blank, you can give him any personality you want and become him.

but if he did talk, he'd pretty much have the godliest voice on the planet
Yeah, I know that :p All part of the fun of having him as a narrator - everyone projects onto him, so maybe he is everyone? Heh...

I have a choir singing everything I read back to me. I have been told this is not normal, but I don't really care as it sounds great.
My narrator would be Jeffrey Combs.

Just my own.
Same here. We're like those protagonists whose voice-overs you hear throughout the movie, like Alex from A Clockwork Orange.
After I read this all the posts after were in my head in Alex's voice. Ha.

Usually books describe what accent a character is using and if there are any other notable features, such as a low-pitch or being very gravelly-voiced. From that I can usually imagine what they talk like. Sometimes I will think "This character would most likely be played by..." and then imagine that person doing the voices.

If I were to pick a narrator, I would go for someone unexpected like Sean Pertwee. He was brilliant in Dog Soldiers and I have an RP character who's "voice", volcabulary and manner is very much like Pertwee's character in Dog Soldiers - The fantastic Sgt. Wells!

That said, I concur that Perlmann was the perfect choice for Fallout 3 and Liam Neeson's voice was so soothing it was the aural equivalent of a relaxing soak in a hot bath.

Morgan Freeman's voiceover work for Shawshank Redemption was also brilliant - it made the film and I reckon that if anyone else was in that role and thus narrating, the film wouldn't have done as well as it has. It would still have been great but Morgan's soft burr adds the glossy finish.

Lenny McLean would be another choice but sadly The Guv'nor is no longer with us.

Sean Connery, every thing sounds more badass when he narrates it.
I agree with this.

I just hear my own voice while reading however. :(

Usually my own, but for specific characters I'll give them different voices based on their personality, description, and described accent. And I create separate voices for my own original characters too, when I read through my stories or imagine the plots and dialogue in my head...

Sean Connery. No joke, its awesome.
Read any of the original James Bond novels in his voice?
the voice in my head sounds like a wise older gentleman, like Alec Guinness
Not read any Bond Novels in Connrey's voice, no. The whole Sean Connrey in my head is pretty recent, I used to read in my own voice. But I did try reading a Star Wars Novel out loud in Obi-Wan's voice, I gave up after Chapter 1 and read normaly.
