As for a show I should be embarrassed for watching it, I guess that would be Sailor Moon and Totally Spies (althought I only watch both shows when I am bored). I did however didn't tell people I watch those shows.
Totally Spies was a great show! It was the perfect mix of Eastern and Western animation styles, even if the stories and concept were a bit derpy.

The only show I watched that I'm truly embarrassed about is Angela Anaconda. Then again, it partly made up for being childish and silly by being UTTERLY TERRIFYING TO LOOK AT!

Oh, fuck I remember that. An example of how terrifying it was is (and this is one of the few things I remember) the recipe for those jiggly fruit things got changed so they went to the CEO of the company and beat him until he changed it back. For some reason that just sounds like something out of a South Park episode. All it needs is some shitting/farting jokes and some antisemitism and it's there.

Oh, and there was this one adult guy who I think kept randomly ***** slapping her.

In retrospect, God, I miss the 90's...

I like both. I didn't get any crap for liking Powerpuff Girls back in the day, but I am getting some for being a Brony. Don't really see why.
There is no real reason for that, but if you have a term for the fandom you are attackable. Also is it a very big fandom (so the wrong people got to know about it in the first place) and some might have a negative image from the previous MLP stuff and don't get that the two aren't really related.
None of this is a real argument for hate, but enough for many idiots out there.

So I just started watching MLP:FIM and it reminded me of another awesome little girl's cartoon from back in my day: Power Puff Girls. I used to love that show when I was a kid, and I got all kinds of Hell for it in school. So, anyone else watch a show you should have been embarrassed about when you were a kid? Power Puff Girls in particular?
When I was a kid, I watched about every cartoon out there. Power Puff Girls was a brilliant show to where I even went to see the movie spite getting picked on by my Dad for seeing a 'girls' movie and all. But, if you love something then why hide it? It's a part of you, thus that is what makes you special.

Courage the Cowardly Dog was among the best during my childhood years honestly, even though it's no embarrassment to watch. Really admire it no doubt to this day for it's morals and humor. Now, I just can't get enough of MLP. Best show that ever existed in my opinion, but truth be told I will never forget the other cartoons that enlightened my heart... those cartoons raised me in ways that no one else could foretell unless seeing it for themselves.
Yeah Courage just creeped the hell out of me as a kid. I thought it was too weird and just plain bizarre.

And I also didnt like ed edd n eddy, I just thought it was dumb and the animation sucked imo

I'm not really sure PPG was mature, i always got the 60's Batman campy-ness from all the jokes and premises. Not saying that bad, but not really mature.
It was an awesome show, shame Cartoon Network only puts on really bad stuff(excluding Adventure Time and Flapjack)nowadays.

Also, have anybody noticed that PPG and Dexter's Lab had a really similar artwork?

I believe you'll find significant overlap between FiM and PPG fans. I certainly watched Powerpuff Girls as a kid, and it never actually occurred to me that it was supposed to be a girls' show. I mean seriously, that show was so violent I still can't believe anyone would make fun of you for it.
Exactly; my parents didn't even let me watch it when it was first on because of that violence.

Males watch My Little Pony and PowerPuff Girls? :/

...did I enter cryosleep?
I guess you must have. Or perhaps have simply been living under a rock for...hold on, you didn't know guys watched PPG? You really are out of touch. That show was so violent I refuse to believe anyone who actually watched it would call it girly.

Anyway: TvTropes
Know Your Meme

Long story short, the latest version of MLP (entitled Friendship is Magic) is actually pretty good and has amassed a significant adult following.

Further evidence: the Escapist Friendship is Magic user group has well over 1000 members, making it the second-largest group on the site after the ZP fan group.

You should not be embarrassed to like the Powerpuff Girls or My Little Pony.

Both are awesome.
Please, do not even compare My Little Pony to Powerpuff Girls.

That's like comparing the latest Duke Nukem to Half Life 2, or Dungeon and Dragons (movie) to Lord of the Rings.
Except she played a part in making Powerpuff girls, so your comparisons are moot. Granted, she may not have had complete control of the reigns in PPG, but she was still a part of the team.

You know both those shows had the same Producer, right?
No. They didn't. I'm getting slightly sick of seeing Faust get all the praise for shows like PPG and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. She didn't create or produce them, her husband did. She may have had an influence, but please quit showering her with praise for them. Praise her husband, Craig McCracken, instead.
Why can't we shower them both with praise? MLP shows a lot of influence from her prior works, which is a big reason why it's so good. And just because Craig McCracken created these two series doesn't automatically mean he deserves all of the praise. Faust pulled her weight on both projects as well, so she deserves a fair bit of praise. Besides, Faust has continued to create while her husband has more or less left the field, so why shouldn't we be allowed to commend her on her past successes? We sure as hell do the same with people like George Lucas, the only exception being with him the consensus seems to be more along the lines of getting him to STOP rather than continue.

Can I like both shows? After all, they're pretty darn similar. FiM is basically a less action-oriented version of PPG, and even then the show has its moments of monster-battling.
And no, I won't heap praises on Faust for the success of her husband's shows. But she did have a big influence on them. They've made no secret of the fact that they help each out on their respective shows.

right on! let us start the holy crusade against ponies! let's make them all to tasty lunch meat!
it already started, check out what i found in a german store the other day:

friendship is salami!

in all seriousnes though: really? power puff girls? this would be just as weird as ponies.

heh...one of my friends has a little brother. and once, when he was arround 11 or 12 or so, his mom walked in on him while he was masturbating to a poster of the powerpuff girls. since then the show was banned in that household. i WISH i could make something like that up.

While we'er talking about PPG..

Was Buttercup supposed to be a Lesbian? I all ways got that vibe from her.
Nah, she once had a crush on one of The Gang Green Gang (Was that their name again?). Faust's show seem to have a lot of similarities if you think about it. I think she works with Tara Strong in all her shows too.

OT: I fecking loved PPG. I'm a girl though, so it's okay. I remember there being blood and stuff in the title sequence, I doubt it would get aired now.
I used to secretly watch Dragoball Z, I don't think that was supposed to be a kids show.
