As soon as the Professor stops getting new ideas everytime I show up, I'll do some research on Brown Coal (Lignite) and its radioactive contents. Since the exact topic is subject to changes I can only assume that it's either comparing the ashes to the coal figuring out what got into the atmosphere or analysing the raw coal fresh from the mine, concentrating on the relation between Uranium and Radium to see if there has been enrichment.

Interesting field of topics people work on, isn't it? Now if all escapist users got together in a scheme to take over the world...

OT: In German there's a difference between the kind of research a journalist does (recherche, the french word, like filing through books, tracking sources) and more lab-like science (Forschung).

How are you bringing computer science into the project?
Automated pattern recognition and classification, basically. I'm not sure whether I'm going to be bringing any kind of machine learning into it--my original research proposal involved a neural network for pattern recognition, but I'm thinking there might be simpler ways to do it.

None at the moment sadly but once I manage to save for college I'll be researching computer technologies.

Nothing officially academic at the moment. But I read up on quite a lot of botany and ecology in preparation for college. Trying to get used to plant identification for fieldwork, too.
