vorts were pushed out of their home by the combine, Gman seems to be the man masterminding a rest of the universe vs the combine resistance so he can seize power for himself

I have my own theory on the G Man being either Gordon's imagination, family relative, alter-ego or a paradox (He manipulates time and space, who knows where he came from)that needs to use Freeman in order to exist.

All of mine are incredibly silly. I have no proof to back them. They are most likely wrong. But I want to be original.

I'll repeat a key part of the page that was linked earlier: Valve has said the G-Man is not Dr. Freeman from the future, and I doubt he's done any significant time traveling. What I'm most interested to find out is exactly how Aperture Science fits into all this and I really hope the Borealis has an ASHPD on it or some way to get to one.

having freshly gone through all of halflife 2 and its episodes, but not having played the original in some time, i have to assume gman is an alien of sorts, and is not really a merc, but more like a god, he plays with humans the same way we do when playing sims, he may have been given a certain duty to oversee the outcome of the halflife world, with influences from the players in the world, and from outside forces.

kinda like the "canceled" episode of southpark, but less funny and more srsly
