I just started playing through Bioshock again (got it at Target for $3.75 on clearance) and thought this might actually make a great movie. If it's in the right hands.

I was thinking maybe Zack Snyder would do a good job. He's stayed loyal to many of his other adaptions, such as Watchmen or 300. Maybe a 3-Hour Bioshock movie would actually turn out well in his hands.

Or Tarantino, because he kicks all kinds of ass. He would be great for this kind of thing.

The director of avatar so it can be fun to do drugs to like that movie har har har.

I would say Neil Blomkamp *the guy from district 9* he would stick to it and make it good which he did with district 9

What's Michael Bay doing these days? :p
GOD NO!!!!!!

Bioshock should not be made into a movie. It is a brilliant piece of work all on it's own right. Distilling the essence of the game down into a 2 hour product would greatly distinguish the greatness that Bioshock's atmosphere achieved due to it's length.

It would be amazing to see hollywood make a movie as stylized and intricate as Bioshock, delving into the same meanings of pure idealism captured in dystopian society, but it would be more impressive to realize that concept on their own.

No one. Ever.

But if we had to. Darren Aronofsky by far. By a country mile. By the GNP of the world. No one else.

No one. I REALLY don't want a Bioshock movie. The whole point of that game was the realisation that
none of your actions were your own.
A movie would lose that sensation.

I think I speak for anyone who WOULD want to see a Bioshock game when I proclaim for all to hear that the director should be [HEADING=1]SOMEONE GOOD.[/HEADING]

Because most anyone here will agree that alot of these game-related movies have NOT been good.

Hey, be nice, I mean he did Postal well...

Oh right, that was Postal. Yeah, maybe not him...

I wouldn't really mind, as long as they do it well. But I just don't see it going very well, it has great potential, but it all depends on who they get to play the roles. I mean, look at the Uncharted movie. I like Mark Wahlberg in some movies, but he is NOT at all the right actor for Drake and it's not gonna go very well I don't think. Prince of Persia I liked, BioShock has potential, I just don't think it's very likely that it will be done right.

Ulli Lommel

If you don't know who he is, look him up. If not him, then Jason Friedberg would do the trick.

I really don't like Tarantino at all but tense scenes of dialogue and over the top action are his thing. I would actually be hopeful about that one.

NOLAN.

YOU KNOW IT MUST BE SO.
Nolan.... North?

Joking aside, I reckon Nolan North as the main character in the movie would be pretty sweet. I mean you really NEED someone with a damn good voice for a role such as the BioShock protagonist considering all of his revealing dialogue...

I was thinking either Peter Jackson (The guy has already proven to be a king of special effects and I think he could make the Plasmids life like) or Guillermo del Toro (Has anyone ever watched Hellboy or Pan's Labyrinth? This man can bring fantasy worlds to life through special effects and Bioshock could definitely prosper with his ability.) or even Tim Burton (The guy can do crazy and the inhabitants of Rapture are nothing but crazy)

Tarantino would be a good choice if the story wanted to focus more on action, but I just don't think he is a good choice for a faithful adaption and Zack Snyder...well, I liked 300, but hated Watchman and I think the man takes Slow Motion and gore for granted far too much.

Christopher Nolan. The guy is a master of character-related plot twists (especially the kind that drive the film) and "The Prestige" was KIND of steampunk.

Of course, the right answer is really "no one" because Bioshock is not structured like a film in any way and would be a huge flop, but if they DID do it, (and they WILL) they should get Nolan.

But they won't.
