No there isn't much discussion value to it.

But Apple is recalling all first first gen nano because there has been reports of overheating battery.

I don't have one myself (proud owner of zune) but I just told my sister whose ipod's battery wont last 40 minutes.

I guess I'll throw in a question just to justify my making this thread:

Who right now uses the oldest version of iPod? I have a 5th generation of ipod classic that I solely use as external hard drive

I have a first gen 2GB iPod Nano somewhere in my room, but I haven't used it for years. I got it in 2005, then a 4th gen Nano in 2008 when my music collection got too big, and upgraded to a 3rd gen iPod Touch in 2010. I'll probably keep that until it dies/Apple drop all support for it.

I technically still have my 1st gen lying around somewhere but it hasn't actually worked for about two years since it broke down, from then on I've been using my mobile phone as an MP3 player because I can't see the use in having to carry around two separate devices. Sadly they'd probably check it if I sent it back under this program!

Oh good, I was worried then. I'm not sure which generation mine is. It's the very tiny square one. :/

It still works fine though.
