Im pretty sure we've all felt this at one point or another, that point where we put the controller down and just say to ourselves "Who the hell thought that was a good idea!?"
My most recent one would have to be Tekken 6, I love that game, the fighting is some of the best I have ever seen, but there is one problem, that problem is called Azazel.

Who the fuck thought Azazel was a good idea?! Who looked at the production of this game and said to themselves
"Lets see this guy can deal crazy amounts of damage, doesn't take as much damage, is faster than he should be, and can ignore most of the players attacks. People will love him!"

Anyway my ranting aside escapists, please share your stories of frustration with idiotic game ideas

Boost guardian in Metriod Prime 2. I really don't think anyone play tested that boss, as it's broken in so many ways. That, or it was supposed to be mind numbingly difficult.

Who the fuck thought Games For Windows Live was a good idea?
I spent 20 fucking minutes waiting for GFWL to update INGAME. It wouldn't let me play the game, oh god no, and it sure wouldn't let me close the game either. What the hell kind of stupid idea is that?

That and Ubisoft's DRM software. Which is why I'm thinking of purchasing assassin's Creed 2 from Steam, then pirating it from somewhere else.

the "yay, i just drank a potion!" animation in Monster Hunter Tri, they implemented that to make item spamming impossible, but the only thing that it does is leaving you open to monster attacks :/

Not giving the AT weapons and grenade launchers correct arming distances in videogames...

The most commonly used 40mm grenades has an arming distance of 14-28 meters instead of the less common 2-3 meters of the M381 and M441 grenades. The reason the 2-3 meter arming distance is not used is because its so unsafe! And having 40mm's in videogames with 14 meter arming distance (at least) would make players use the GL the way it was ment, and not as a shotgun of sorts... (well, not to enter a building, you have that assault rifle on top of your GL for a reason, not just to look good!)

The AT4 has an arming distance of 10 meters. Meaning shooting the weapon in the ground right infront of you shouldn't kill you OR the person trying to knife/shotgun you! It's so stupid!

Now, the ERYX missile (which is the one used in BF2) has an arming distance of 50 meters... 50 meters! It's fucking retarded... Why can't games at least take a few simple steps to cut down on the use of AT weapons and GLs in CQB... It doesn't take much.

Now, the standard 5.56 round used in rifles such as the M4 and M16 easily penetrate kevlar... Wait, I was talking about arming distances... Well, enough then. I think you get what I mean.

Devil May Cry 4. Nero is cool and has a deamon hand, then halfway thru the game you start over as Dante. Its exactly the same, but less abilities. Makes no sense to me.
And all the sexism, you know. A demon-frog with lesbian antenna-thingies. Seriously. WTF

Who in the Hell thought that taking out the awesome puzzles and individual prologues from Wild Arms 4... Oh wait X-Seed.

Also what was up with making magic user go the extra mile to gather crystals to learns magic spell unlike physical users who can learn them once they level up properly in Tales of Legendia.

Lost Oddesy, making the first few boss battles absolute jerkoffs to beat. Althoug you get extreme satisfaction by beating them... Its still majotly annoying having to grind and still do everything perfect.

The level cap of 20 in Fallout 3, i was just getting into that game, when i hit my level cap, and i still felt underpowered.

Agree... I played through the entire game once, then I played the first few levels over and over again just for the share joy of skipping around on rooftops^^. The last levels sucked... I didn't go into Mirrors Edge to shoot people!

OT, I would say the conversation choices in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Overall, I liked the game, but I would have ditched the conversation choices...and that assinine grab meter.
