Not really, just switch to your Demolitions class and buy the M79 I think it is, the 6 shot Grenade Launcher, then just let loose on him.

About a dozen Super mutant overlords, couple of masters, a brute and three very stupid regulars (perhaps the easiest non V.A.T.S. kills with a sniper rifle evar!) and one behemoth. Used: Sniper rifle, assault rifle, scoped 44., railway rifle, couple of frag mines, one missile and one mini nuke. Did I mention my enduring favorite? The hunting rifle.I find variety is the spice of death......
